Hi all

My wife and i have only ever cruised with RC and have heard good things about celebrity....

Which type of cabin would be comparable to an RC junior suite and which ship would people recommend.... we are big fans of the radiance and freedom class on RC

Thanks in advance...

Before you get started I just booked for the first time Celebrity as a D+ RCCL cruiser. I'm assuming you know you need to call Celebrity to get your membership on Celebrity Captains Club membership as an Elite because you are Diamond +. When you book you have "to ask" to be given a one category upgrade" because they don't just offer it to you. You also have "to ask for the $50 deposit" rather than normal deposit. JFYI Now have a great cruise. I booked Equinox and it is under 3000 passengers.

Also look at their "stickies" at top of page and you can learn a lot about cabins. They actually have hundreds of cabin numbers with reviews.

Hi THEALLENS55,

Welcome to Celebrity

Just to add onto PEPSICRUISER's comments.

Make the necessary arrangements to join Celebrity's Captain's Club BEFORE you book.

Info can be found on the RCCL website - Crown & Anchor Page = http://www.royalcaribbean.com/customersupport/faq/details.do?pagename=frequently_asked_questions&faqId=971&faqSubjectId=340

You will earn points as a Captain's Club Member (starting at 0). But all the while enjoy Privleges that correspond to your status in the C&A Society (starting at the RCCL Platinum level = Celebrity Select)

As a Captains Club Member you are entitled to any Captain's Club Specials / Promos as well as the ongoing benefit of a 50% Deposit as well as a one SubCategory Upgrade (ie 2D to 2C or A2 to A1 etc). There are however some categories & Suites that don't apply, or cruises (such as Holiday ones). So best to always read the fine print on any cruise you are thinking of booking.

Celebrity's Captain's Club = http://www.celebritycruises.com/captains-club/membership/captains-club-overview

For more info on benefits look around these Pgs, and also read the Terms & Conditions to further understand how The program works

Cheers!

Cabins... in size, the Sky Suite is comparable to the JS of RCI as it is 50% larger than a standard balcony... But... the perks are different. They are similar to the perks for a true suite on RCI.. from the Butler to the early disembarkation, special room service menus, etc.

Ships... =X= has two classes of ships (other than the expedition and soon to be gone century).. the M class is similar in size to the radiance class. intimate, etc. We took our first ever X cruise in may on the summit, an M class ship and were so delighted that we have booked one for thanksgiving week on the Reflection, an S class ship (similar to a freedom class, but no promenade, etc).

You will find that X ships are quieter (only one announcement a day), virtually smoke free (I am still amazed by being able to walk thru a smoke free casino), and more "adult" like. They usually police deck chairs and I found that when there was late night "adult" entertainment they were up front in checking young people before they came in.

Enjoy your travels on X, we sure did.

Steve

We are like you, D+. I have wanted to try Celebrity for a long time and we are finally going on Nov.8 on Reflection. I am very excited! As mentioned, call Celebrity and get your Elite status right away.

We originally booked a Sky Suite, and were able to upgrade to an Aqua Suite. We did it mostly for location, our Aqua Suite is on the hump. But the Aqua Suite includes dining in Blu, water and tea everyday in the cabin, etc. They are, apparently, changing the Aqua Suite to regular Sky Suites soon.

Anyway, like you I am very interested in the different experience. We are traveling with friends so it'll be a lot of fun. :)

Hi all...

We have at last booked Infinity for February 2017! We are really excited - fantastic Argentina intinerary plus a really good OBC offer by email made us 'bite the bullet'.

We have booked a standard balcony cabin on the website but as we have now enrolled in the Captains Club (thankyou to the members above for the tips) we will contact celebrity regarding any upgrades.

Once again thanks to members for your tips - any further info gratefully accepted!

Dean

We have sailed the Infinity 2 times and one was her Antarctic cruise from Buenos Aires. The Infinity is an older ship but we love her. We have sailed all of Celebrity ships except the Millenium which is a sister ship to Infinity. We prefer the Solstice Class ships

We are diamond on Royal and Elite + on Celebrity. We have sailed Royal's Jewel in Royal Suite 2 times, Enchantment in a balcony and a junior suite as well as the old Monarch in a ovean view. We almost always sail AQUA on Celebrity as we love BLU for dinner. We are booked on Oasis in Dec. 2016 in a Boardwalk balcony. We sailed her sister the Allure in an ocean balcony.

You should love Celebrity.

Feb 5, Feb 19th or both? Come join us on the roll call. We have done 9 Celebrity cruises after reaching Diamond on RCCL. We love the S class ships on X doing our first cruise on the Constellation next week, sister ship to the Infinity.

I think you will enjoy Celebrity, a different feel than Royal.

We just booked our first cruise on the Silhouette. We are Diamond on RCI. We were told that the 50% deposits only applied to 2015 sailings and we booked for 2016, so we had to pay full deposit. We did get an upgrade however without asking for it! [emoji3]

We've been D+ on Royal Caribbean for several years, but have discovered that we really like Celebrity and now mostly book Celebrity cruises. We do hope to try out Harmony of the Seas when it arrives and have an upcoming cruise on Allure with our son and DIL because they really like that ship, so I don't mean to imply we have completely given up on Royal Caribbean.

We are big fans of Solstice Class ships. Our favorite cruise is the two week Southern Caribbean itinerary. I love those deep southern tropical nights.

We book Concierge Class rooms. I can't really compare RCI Junior Suites with suites on Celebrity. We have sailed in RCI junior suites from time to time and I really liked the extra space and walk-in closet. I'm sure a Sky-Suite would be very comfortable. and would love to try one myself as a special treat for an anniversary.

I hope you like Celebrity as much as we do.

We were in your boat a bit ago (no pun intended). One week ago we disembarked from the Celebrity Summit. We absolutely loved it and have 3 more booked over the next 18 months. We typically get a balcony on RCCI but tried Aqua on X. We thought Blu was awesome and have booked the others there. The suites seemed significantly higher in price to me.
