Av8tor Posted November 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2014 Last week we noticed that for the entire cruise on the Grand, the lighting in the Da Vinci dining room slowly dims and then suddenly goes full bright and then continuously repeats that cycle. We found it to be very annoying. When asked about it, the wait staff said it was a new system and was the same on all the dining rooms on the ship. Anybody else notice this on other ships in the Princess fleet and/or know the rationale for it?

caribill Posted November 3, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 3, 2014 I did notice this on one ship several years ago, but I forget which one it was. It was definitely annoying. It did not happen all evening, just some of the time.

Sitmar Lady Posted November 3, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2014 We experienced it on the Oct. 20th sailing every night as well. It didn't bother me after awhile but at first it was an eye opener.
CCFC Posted November 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 3, 2014 My last two cruises on the Grand had the ceiling lights so dim it was hard to read the menu, a disco effect would have been welcome.
