Oasis Suite sun deck question

Recommended Posts

For anyone currently on the Oasis I am curious about the bar on the sun deck - not the lounge bar - Is it open all day. is it completely stocked like other bars - since the lounge bar is open from 11:30-8:30 with complementary drinks - does this also apply to the sun deck bar? I purchased a beverage package and wondering if I should cancel it?

If you have a drink package, you can get your drinks anywhere...all bars will honor the package. All bars are completely stocked....no worries!

You misunderstood, the OP is questioning if the suites sundeck is complimentary. You really should read before you post

Thank you for the info. That is what I needed. I will keep my drink package

I see you are on O again in June, after DD is complete. Hope you can give some feedback on the difference between your 2 cruises 11/2014-6/2015 or if it was mostly the same

Setsail -

I will plan on doing that unless someone else does the same. My granddaughter is not too thrilled about the dd. she like the mdr experience of having the same table and same waiter each night. She loves her baked potato and on all her cruises they had one for her each evening without her having to ask. Made her feel special.

I hope so. That's where they used to have the cigars under the stars. I'll be very disappointed if they stopped allowing it there.

If the smoke-****s have their say it will be banned! They just can't stand to see anyone enjoy themselves! On my Allure cruise smoking under the stars was constantly being moved. We better get used to it, RCI is going to treat us like pariahs. And, as I've said before, that word that Cruise Critic refuses to print starts with "N", ends with "S", and has "AZI" in the middle. Don't want to turn this into a smoking thread so please don't flame me here!

The sun deck for suite guests is okay, but tends to be the windiest area on the ship. We were on the Allure twice this year and I wanted to use the sun deck, but never lasted long due to the high winds.

The lounge chairs are nicer / more comfortable than other deck chairs. There are also some nice "nooks" with comfortable seating and are out of the wind (but also out of the sun). The nooks are a great place if you want privacy to do something quiet like read a book. There is also a bathroom on that level that is not used as much.

As others have mentioned, it seems to be a full bar but drinks are not complimentary. However, if it is open during the "happy hour" where you can use your 3 free drink vouchers, that could be an option.

I have found the sunning areas almost always empty - even when we were on a crowded Spring Break cruise back in March. I saw some show up but then left due to the high winds. The bar side will be busier at times. Last week there was hardly anyone on the deck at all when I looked during the week.

I have never been on the Oasis but am curious as to what changes have occurred in this sun deck area since the dry dock? I see RCCkeeps advertising it as the new Sun Deck area for suite guests, but to me it appears that this area existed before the refurbishment.

Looks exactly the same as when we sailed on her in June, heard through another post that the only change is that they added a lock on the entry gate so that you have to swipe your card to get access - prior there was just a gate to the stairway that goes up to the sun deck with a sign on it that said Suite Guests only.
