    Both are defining what an "adult" is based on arbitrary age limits when you think about it.

    If you would have asked me 10 years ago I would have said Chops. If you would have asked me 5 years ago I would have said Giovanni's. If you're asking me now I have to say neither are worth the extra price of admission.

    Interesting. So if I understand it correctly, you believe that arbitrary age with over 70 on excursions is not ok but arbitrary age with 18 in the Solarium is ok. Gotcha. For the record, I think both are completely ok.

    I believe it would be worth it for many people and Royal knows it. And let's face it, it's much easier to let loose and we all party a little harder when we don't have to be on our best behaviour in front of the kiddos. Maybe the Solarium becomes an extension of Hideaway beach on CocoCay??

    Eventually they'll probably want to charge a fee to enter the "exclusive adults only zone". And we all know people will pay.

    If you don't drink all 4 D drinks that day stop off at a bar on the way back to your cabin for the night and get some bottles of water for the next day. Don't let any of the 4 drinks go to waste.

    We've paid less for a 7 day balcony cruise.

    Only a matter of time until they start charging extra for access to the adults only Solarium on board the ship.

    On our last Oasis cruise I found the CK attire becoming more and more relaxed as the week progressed. Nice shorts and a t-shirt was perfectly fine. We ate every single meal in there and everything we had was great.....and never any lines to deal with. Never had an empty wine or beer glass in front of me which was awesome. Enjoy!!

    I guess I'm more laid back than I thought because I didn't find anything earth shattering in the OP.....sounds like a typical day on a cruise to me.

    I believe it is coming eventually as well. A well known Royal blog put up a video on youtube recently about what Royal needs to change (suggestions) and including gratuities in the advertised fare was one of them. Foreshadowing and conditioning perhaps. I would love to know the actual percentage of people removing the gratuities lately. My wager would be that it is going up.

    We already booked an AI for Feb 2024 and will revisit the possibility of cruising again in 2025 or so. Have been looking at MSC quite a bit lately as well as prices seem to be more reasonable.

    I remember when Chops was 25 per person and Portofino was 20.........ah the good old days.

    On our last cruise in May on Oasis we felt the crowding everywhere except in the CK. We gave up on trying to use the elevators very early on it was so bad. So I imagine it's pretty much the same thing.
