Rare little britain Posted November 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2014 According to Archie on FB as of today's sailing smoking will no longer be permitted in the casino [emoji122]. Can any one sailing today please confirm this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Biker19 Posted November 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2014 A bit late - everything in there already stinks of smoke. At a very minimum they should have designed the ship so the smoke from down there doesn't overwhelm people one level up waiting to get into the restaurants. pmkejk Posted November 22, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 22, 2014 Archie posted again tonight to say that when he was in the casino tonight there were still lots of people smoking. He even showed a picture of the memo he received stating that no more smoking in the casino. I guess RCCL change their mind.:(

Tyron Posted November 23, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 23, 2014 I'm on the 11/21 & 11/23 sailings and it was really too late to stop people from smoking after the cruise had already begun. I think they plan to enforce it starting today.
DonnaK Posted November 23, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 23, 2014 This is good news! Smoke from the casino wafted into other areas of the ship. It was really quite a problem on our sailing last week.

Loreni Posted November 23, 2014 #10 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Please let us know. If we cant't get to dinner without being exposed to smoke, this is a deal breaker for us.

MADflyer Posted November 23, 2014 #12 Share Posted November 23, 2014 Please let us know. If we cant't get to dinner without being exposed to smoke, this is a deal breaker for us. No matter how this issue is resolved, you can easily get to dinner without being exposed to smoke. If you use the aft elevators to deck 4 for those dining rooms, you can then also find a staircase down to deck 3 that is forward of the maître d stations for all venues and move between the complementary dining venues without nearing the casino. The aft section of the Casino is not really the problem with smoke as they congregate around the bar that is where the word 'Casino' appears on the deck plans and then up in the corridor that moves toward the Music Hall on the forward section of the Casino. The bar in the casino is near the staircase which is where most of the smokers were situated (from what I saw).
Dave85 Posted November 23, 2014 #14 Share Posted November 23, 2014 It was awful so I'm thrilled about the change :) Thanks for the update! Hope you're having a great time and please let us know if they actually enforce the new smoking policy in the casino on the inaugural. BostonBud Posted November 24, 2014 #15 Share Posted November 24, 2014 Smoking was pretty bad in the casino. The only place you couldn't smoke this past weekend there was at the bar which had no smoking signs. There was some guy complaining at the bar that he couldn't smoke his cigar at the bar but could in other places.

dln929 Posted December 8, 2014 #18 Share Posted December 8, 2014 How was the level of smokiness in the casino compared to other ships? Sent from my iPhone using Cruise Critic Forums mobile app Stinky smoky on the Inaugural just like all the other casinos on other ships. The good news is that unless we were very lucky, we never noticed any smoke wafting up to the upper floor via the curved stair near Next Cruise or Shore Excursions. Sent from my iPhone using Cruise Critic Forums mobile app It was just a smokey as any other ship I have been on. Since its new it was kind of a rental car smokey smell. Half new car half cigar type of thing.
pmkejk Posted December 13, 2014 #20 Share Posted December 13, 2014 Just off of Dec 1 sailing. My husband and I did not find the casino as smoky as on other RCCL ships. There were plenty of people smoking, but think they must have fixed the ventilation problem. That being said, the last two nights were extra crowded and the smoke was worse.
