REFLECTION, Nov 8th--15th

Just thought I would give a brief review of my experience:

Reflection, 11/8 - 11/15, Western Caribbean

Cabin 1044, C2

Bed by the balcony and cabin was very quiet.

I didn't receive any type of paperwork about Capt's Club events. I asked

for them on day 2.

I needed different pillows. The ones provided were way too soft. My cabin

attendant was kind enough to bring me 2 others....they were better.

Bathroom......I did note there were no cotton swabs but they did supply

cotton balls. Also, this was the first cruise I had taken since the new

toiletries were provided....shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion.

I prefer the old brand but these worked well enough. My balcony was

larger than a normal size. You could see clear to the aft but could not

see all the way forward. But that was ok with me.

Food: I purchased the Ulitmate Dining Package for this cruise and ate

at Murano twice, Tuscan Grill twice, Qsine twice and Lawn Club Grille once.

So, I never went to the main dining room. I also ate lunch at LCG, went to

The Porch and Bistro on 5 a few times over the week as well (for breakfast and lunch).

Most of my meals were very good to excellent. I met some wonderful folks

while on board and ate with them in the Specialty restaurants 5 out of 7

nights. 2 nights I ate on my own.

Entertainment: I don't usually go to all the shows. But I did go see the Ventriloquist on board and he was very, very good.

During the day, I went to see the Top Chef event and that was alot of

fun.

I did not attend any of the Elite events and never ended up going to the

cocktail hour so I have no idea how many people attended.

I did try the Elite Breakfast once but never went back. I didn't

like the new set up. It was held in Tuscan.

Ports: Cozumel.....I went on ship's tour called Salsa, Salsa, Margerita and it was VERY FUN. Definitely recommend it.

Grand Caymen, I didn't get off the ship.

Labadee, I went with 4 roll call mates to Nellie's Beach and had a nice time there.

Montego Bay...they had a free shuttle that would take you to another

area (not downtown) but an area where the Carnival ship was docked.

It was sort of like a flea market with some shops and that is where

you could pick up other transportation too. Anyway, I wanted to get

the gal who does my work while I am on vacation a couple of items

and so I did that and went back to the ship.

CC gathering......we had a very active roll call for this cruise and I think

about 50 (or so) people showed up. It was nice putting faces to names

and seeing people throughout the week.

Bars/Lounges........I had gotten the drink package on the 123 and upgraded to the Premium

Package. I was a regular at The Molecular Bar and I have to say they were usually VERY busy.

My new favorite drink is a Kentucky Derby. I don't normally drink bourbon but this drink is absolutely

delicious:) I stopped at the Martini Bar a few times over the week as well.

I did notice that bar service seemed slower than I remember and I noted

that on my post cruise survey.

But I did have a wonderful week and booked another cruise for next

year:)

Yes that Fabulous Sunset bar. :)

Hey there Joe!

We thought we would like the layout on Equinox better, but felt otherwise as the week went on. The Sunset on Reflection just felt more 'alive' being out in the action. Your about ready for your return visit I see!:)

Lois, thanks for your review, we'll be taking this cruise in January. I do have a question --- did the ship change its time back an hour, and was this done on the 1st sea day, before reaching any of the ports? And, was the ship on the same time as all of the ports? Thanks for your help....

Lois, thanks for posting and glad you had a good time.

We did that "Salsa Salsa Margarita" thing in Cozumel and also thought it was a lot of fun. I did think it was a bit pricey though so I had to get my money's worth with an extra Margarita or two!!:D

Hi Lois,

How did you feel the Reflection compared to the other S-class you have sailed?

Dana felt there was something missing on the Equinox compared to Reflection.

Nothing bad, cause we booked the 10 day East for 2015.

Hi Wallie:)......I enjoyed both ships. I had been on Reflection once

before but that was only for 3 nights (it was her first revenued cruise)

Inaugural back in Dec 2012.

If I feel like 1 ship is better over the other?....not really......

I would have to give it some more thought.......

Hi:)......yes, the time changed but I don't want to give you misinformation. I think it was the first night but honestly don't

remember for sure:eek:...check your daily. It is listed on the front of

them.

As for the timing of the ports and the ship? I think everything matched.

I took one ship excursion in Cozumel....I got off the ship on time and

returned on time;)....probably not helping you too much.

Hi Lois:

Thanks so much for posting. It was great to have your thoughts. I haven't made it on the Reflection yet, but hope to book something on her soon.

Just checking on a small detail re: the bathroom amenities...have they changed the contents of the small brown box that holds the cotton balls...are there no cotton swabs in it any longer? There were on my Silhouette inside cabin in October.

What was your favourite thing about the Reflection?

Hi Eileen:) I did not have any type of a brown box:eek:.....I had

the clear plastic holder that had cotton balls going around it (inside)

with the middle part empty.....that part used to hold the q-tips.

So not sure what brown box you are referring to.......

My favorite thing?......not sure to be honest with you. I met 3

different couples, one from Boston, one from California and one from

Australia.......spent time with all 3 and they made my cruise really,

really nice:D.....I know you are referrring to the ship herself.....

I had a lot of fun at the Molecular Bar this trip....does that count?;)

Hi Lois, Can you remember what brand of toiletries were offered on the Reflection as I will be on her in January. I really liked the brand they had on Silhouette. Also, do you know if the wine tastings are offered onboard? I am specifically interested in the Old World Wine tasting, they had it on the Silhouette last year as we were docking into San Juan but for some reason I did not attend and I'd like to do it this time.

Hi Susan:) good to see you and thanks!:D

Good morning,:) I don't remember the name but I think someone had

posted a photo of them recently.

Check this post out.....these are what I received......also received a tube

of body wash. So, this is the brand.
