ksmith3975 Posted December 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2014 Hi all, my wife and I are big fans of port intensive cruises, mainly because we do not like most of the entertainment celebrity provides. However on our Summit cruise in April there was a Sin City comedy show that was very entertaining. The show also seemed to be very popular, so much so that people were being turned away as the venue was packed. Haven't heard much about this on the boards, has celebrity done away with it? They had it on the Silhouette during our TA this past month. Only problem was the comedian stunk, and we walked out after about the first 10 minutes. You had to get there very early to get a seat because when the main show let out, folks began storming into the venue -- it was standing room only. The folks standing next to us got our end seats. jerseycandyman Posted December 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 1, 2014 Its been over a year but was on equinox last oct my only complaint is it is the same show every night. That is one thing I love about carnival there comedy shows are different every night. I do really enjoy comedy shows just wish sin city wasn't repeated every night with same show. wwcruisers Posted December 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2014 We really enjoyed the Sin City show on Summit, this past August -- and, I'm not normally a big fan of 'adult comedy'. But then, we felt that all of the entertainment on that particular itinerary seemed to be bumped up a notch from what we've seen on other X ships. Every live music and comedy performance that we saw was quite good!
soccernut1984 Posted December 1, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2014 On our Equinox sailing in Feb. 2014, I enjoyed Sin City comedy multiple times. The show may have been nearly the same, but it was fun, because the audience was different. I think the comedian/comedienne made small changes, based on the audience. rucruisn2 Posted December 1, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 1, 2014 I love comedy shows, but on the sin city one we went to last cruise, I fell asleep. Not funny.
Rare Lois R Posted December 1, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 1, 2014 It was on Reflection the week of 11/8. Fell asleep? Sorry you thought it was so bad. The first time I saw it was last year on Silhouette.....I laughed so hard my stomach started to hurt:D

Rare Lois R Posted December 1, 2014 #10 Share Posted December 1, 2014 You must have seen a different show. I must have.........I don't remember his name, but the comedian I saw? It was definitely adult comedy......I thought it was hysterical.:D It was held in Comedy Central and it was full.....I think 2 people walked out.....not sure how many people that venue holds but lets say 200. I remember everyone else laughed their butts off:D
Champagne Cruiser Posted December 1, 2014 #11 Share Posted December 1, 2014 We went to see it on the Summit repo cruise. It was not very good. Might try it again next cruise. Evidently the quality of the shows vary widely on different cruises.
Rare cruisestitch Posted December 2, 2014 #12 Share Posted December 2, 2014 There wasn't any show like this on Eclipse TA, but they did do Liar's Club twice, which is also late night, adult comedy, and both were very funny.
Sandtrap328 Posted December 2, 2014 #13 Share Posted December 2, 2014 The Sin City emcee on the 11-23 sailing of the Silhouette was David Gee and he was hilarious! The performing comic was very good, too, but David Gee was definitely better. Of course, "the beautiful Priscilla" was very easy on the eyes - and had a gorgeous derrière! Rare cruisestitch Posted December 2, 2014 #14 Share Posted December 2, 2014 I almost forgot -- on Eclipse there was a late-night, adults-only Murder Mystery Game. It was a zoo signing up for it, but it was only the first time they had run it and need to work some kinks out of the procedure. The show itself was very well done. ksmith3975 Posted December 2, 2014 Author #15 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Murder mystery games sounds great, hope they improve and expand it. Don't care much for the lounge acts and dance shows in the main theater.
