Port of Miami to get TSA full body scanner

1. TSA has nothing to do with cruises ... they are 'air travel'

2. At an airport, many gates and usually airlines are handled by one security check point ... there is a funnel. Not so at cruise terminals; one terminal one entry point. Each terminal/gate needs its own equipment ....

I'm gonna say don't think so on this one . . .

That is incorrect. TSA in NYC is used at subway entrances as well as at Penn Station and Amtrak.

TSA always works with NYCPD or Amtrak Police but they are there in their blue uniform with hand chemical "sniffers" or scanners. Though a Port is not a "Transportation Hub" Expanding to Ports is not that impossible.

Sure the US ports I've been too have yet to see a TSA agent or anything other than xray and magnetometers.

FWIW

Transportation Security Administration’s Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response squads — VIPR teams for short — assigned to perform random security sweeps to prevent terrorist attacks at transportation hubs across the United States.
