Can you watch hockey?

You should be able to view the Saturday and/or Sunday games that air on NBC. Other than that, you will not find any of the games. If not on NBC, games are televised on regional networks (Comcast Sportsnet, Fox Regional, etc.) and those networks are not available on the ship.

I hope so, my boyfriend and his friend are wings fans and will be upset if they can't at least get an update on how they do!

My son writes articles on the Red Wings for isportsweb .net for his internship. I make sure to get the internet package onboard for him just so he can keep informed on them (and get his articles out on time). He doesn't miss a game when we are at home.

Good for your son. What a great experience for a writer and a hockey fan.

For all the hockey fans out there sadly we can only keep up with the second best sport in the world via the internet on most cruise ships. :(

Even sadder, there is far worse access to the best sport in the world - Curling! :(:(

I love hockey, but I would never be disappointed missing a regular season hockey game on a cruise, unless it is the last few days of the season and the playoffs were on. Even then....I'd would probably be okay with it because I am indeed cruising......Even playoffs, you may miss 2 games, 3 max. Still time to catch the rest, unless it is a conference or cup final. In fact, in the regular season, I probably wouldn't watch the game if I could, unless I couldn't do anything else.

Last year on the Magic during the NHL playoffs I was told no, no hockey will be broadcasted and every tv in the bar had basketball......if I was lucky I could catch the score on the ticker on the bottom of the screen. Wasn't that big of a deal but with the playoffs you would think you could see something even if its not the most popular sport of the masses.....however I also realize that some sports stations just dont carry hockey games, unlike Canada where I can see all the games(i'm spoiled lol)

The Stanley cup finals were on at the casino bar on the breeze last year. Go wings!

Those games shown were from the NBC feed. The only games you can see on a ship nowadays would be the Saturday or Sunday afternoon 1230 PM EST games, as was previously mentioned earlier in this thread around post 9.

Unfortunately I've never seen hockey on a cruise ship. I don't think ESPN Deportes carries it.

I agree!

We are Canadians who love our hockey. Have never once seen an NHL game or World Juniors(we always travel over Christmas). When we have asked the bartender at the sports bar if he can find a hockey game, he usually looks at us strangely, like what?

I looked up the hockey schedule for the week of my cruise and found three games will be on NBC. I hope they will air on the ship.

There's a NBC feed in your cabin and it can be brought up on any of the other tv's as well. The only reason would be if for some reason the affiliate of wherever the ship's NBC feed is from decides to preempt the game, but I believe they would be contractually obligated to show it.
