We will be on Ruby. thx For something extra special why don't you try to get into the Sanctuary for the day or half day. It does have an extra charge, $40pp full day or $20pp half day, but it is very luxurious, with great service, and afternoon tea is served at your sunlounger or chair. dmwnc1959 Posted February 11, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) So which are MDRs on Ruby? On the Grand-class like Ruby Princess, the MDR afternoon tea is almost always held in the Michelangleo Dining Room. It's on the ground floor of the atrium (aka Plaza Deck) just off of the International Cafe. :D Edited February 11, 2015 by dmwnc1959
fishywood Posted February 11, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) When I was on Ruby in November Afternoon Tea was in the Da Vinci dining room (midship on Fiesta Deck 6) every day except turnaround days. Same dining room that is used for breakfast and sea day lunch. Edited February 11, 2015 by fishywood

I'll have to bow to your more recent experience/wisdom as it has been since Dec. 2012 since I was on her. :o

If they have the little egg salad sandwiches, please eat four or five for me. :D They will offer you coffee if you don't like tea, but I find it's very good tea. People will be going nuts for the scones, but as one of I think eleven people on earth who don't like scones, I have left them all for you. :D
AKman2495 Posted February 11, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 11, 2015 Don't forget that you can sign up for your birthday on the princess personalizer. On the day you choose (presumably your birthday) you will have a sign and balloons on your door and there will be a voucher for a small cake. If you take the voucher to dinner in the MDR, they will serve up the cake and get everyone at surrounding tables to sing Happy Birthday. Just go to the bottom of the Guest checkin section you can put your name, the day you want to celebrate and type of event (birthday) and you will be good to go. Rare Bimmer09 Posted February 11, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 11, 2015 On my Jan 24 Ruby Cruise we took afternoon tea in the Sanctuary and it was also served in Da Vinci. Suite passengers (and maybe Elites?) can have it served on their balcony all at once instead of course by course. Room Service can arrange and pick-up of dirty dishes is the realm of the Room Steward. A great Princess Tradition. Norris

AKman2495 Posted February 12, 2015 #16 Share Posted February 12, 2015 I couldn't find it in my Princess personalizer. Please advise.:) When you log into the cruise personalizer on Princess.com, you will see the booking summary and a block at the top with some buttons. Click on the "Guest Check-in" button and a window will open showing details of the people under the booking. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see a section called "Special Occasions", There will be a "name" block, a "date" block and an "Occasion" lock, just use the pull downs to select yourself, the date of your birthday and then "birthday" under the occasion tab and you will be all set. willworkfortravel Posted February 13, 2015 #19 Share Posted February 13, 2015 I will be sailing on the Coral Princess in April. Has anyone done the Afternoon Tea aboard the Coral. Just wondering when and where it will be served. This will be our first cruise with Princess. Thanks for any help. Arlene

Just wondering when and where it will be served. This will be our first cruise with Princess. It's been awhile since I was on the Coral, but the tea was held in the deck 6 midship dining room, I think. It's generally held around 3:30 or so, on sea days, as I recall. The "Patter" is the daily list of activities on the ship and is delivered to your cabin each evening. The time and location of the afternoon tea will be listed in the Patter.
