Rare steamboats Posted February 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2015 On the Eclipse in January there was Zumba by the pool for free and classes in the gym for a fee (11 USD + 18%). steamboats
cruceriantes Posted February 11, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted February 11, 2015 Thanks Steamboats...the review said that the first class was free, but they were charging $11.00 from there on. I hope they still have the free ones by the pool.
TeaBag Posted February 11, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2015 Yes, they are charging. It is offered by Canyon Ranch spa now and the Zumba leaders are employed by them instead of Celebrity. I talked to one of the instructors and he was not a happy camper. I refuse to pay $12.98/class. I really balk at that 18% tip.
J.E.C Posted February 11, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2015 This was a fab free activity and I will miss it - I refuse to pay for fitness classes. Last time I was on we had great free classes and all were really well attended. What a dissapointing change!
Pushka Posted February 11, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 11, 2015 They've been charging for months now.
loeb Posted February 11, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 11, 2015 Don't waste your money. My wife goes to zumba classes at our gym, no additional cost. She was going to pay on the Millennium, but after she saw how the class was going she said she would waste the money. The instructor was very poor, went through the motions, but not a real zumba class, more like jazzercise.
happyscmom Posted February 11, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 11, 2015 I do not know about Celebrity, but on my last RC cruise I paid for three different classes. All were pretty poor and CERTAINLY not worth the money. This seems like something that should be a part of the cruise package.
DirtyDawg Posted February 11, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 11, 2015 No free Zumba?:o I guess there ain't no such thing as a free lunch on Celebrity any more. P.S. That's just a turn of a phrase, I am not spreading a rumour about another Celebrity cutback.;)
cruceriantes Posted February 12, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Thanks to all for your response.....So sad about this change...I wonder what next? want to learn Line dancing? $$ or play trivia? $$ or participate in pool games? $$. Not good at all, and no, I will not be paying for it, so I guess no Zumba this time around. :(
Kathamo Posted February 12, 2015 #11 Share Posted February 12, 2015 One on of the recent Reflection dailies posted by Arno, I believe there was a free 30 minute Zumba by the pool on one of the first sea days, followed by paid classes in the gym after that.
