"Dancing of the Ships" Speculation

where is the naysayer that said carnival would never return to Mobile. Where is the naysayer that Carnival would never put 2.0 features on a fantasy class ship.

I have heard ramblings that all Fantasy class ships are going to get the full gut and replace with 2.0 upgrades. They are going to slow down on new ship deployments and start upgrading older ships to look new. I think its a great idea if true.

Disclaimer: This came from a friend who works for Carnival. These plans could and will change!

Any thoughts on how the 2.0 upgrades will be applied? How long is the Fantasy's Dry Dock? According to the article, it will begin sailing from Mobile on November 9, 2016

i would imagine that guys will be where the current grill is and blue iguana will be where the Mongolian wok is. then the two bars will replace the existing bars on lido.

Just got off the Carnival Miracle, and heard from a crewmember that the Miracle is destined for redeployment to service the China market in the future. That could explain why not all of all the 2.0 upgrades were installed.

Well, other cruise lines are sending more resources to that market so maybe it makes sense for Carnival to join the party. If true, that's bad news for the West Coast unless they replace Miracle with a comparable (or larger) ship (I guess the Splendor rumor is still out there).

I feel as though a ship like Valor or Victory would be better suited for that. The casinos are bigger, and there aren't many places in Asian ports where size matters, where in the US, it's a huge deal. Carnival just can't afford to lose 3/4 Panamax balcony ships.

I would be very surprised if that were to occur. Carnival has said many times (some from very high ranking people directly to me) that Carnival cruise line is the Caribbean alternative, Australia was a one off due to the similarity of the market. China would be served by other Carnival companies (Princess, HAL and Costa were named). What was the level (job) of the person that told you this?

Since the people on this thread keep up with news about ships...........Would you answer a question for me.

We were booked on the Splendor Cruise out of Miami to Panama. Costa Rica.Cozumel for Dec. 10, 2016. An eight day Round Trip sailing.

This week end e-mails went out that it was changed. That same cruise now goes to Cozumel. Belize. Honduras. Caymon Island. Costa Maya. None of which I am interested in going to again soon.

We cancelled. Our InLaws whom we had talking into going are cancelling tomorrow with their TA.

DO you know or suspect that Carnival Will put an 8 day cruise back on that Panama..Costa Rica itinerary in 2017?

or will they leave that market to other Cruise lines?

thanks for your knowledge.

Not sure I would call it knowledge or rather an educated guess. I would be very surprised if Carnival would not go to the ports you mentioned. That being said, scheduling for said ports might be a little tricky. It might be that they are holding future stops there for any ship movement around that time (canal passage etc of trying to get ships back and forth. While some ships are out for that period, I am sore there will be released later.

It was a guide from our Behind the Fun tour. Very well connected with all the ship's personnel.

On the Miracle right now. Future desk had itineraries for the Miracle in 2017 out of Tampa with no dates. Was told no firm date as of yet but Miracle is going ti Tampa early 2017 and Splendor to LB which we already speculated.

Surprise was his comment that the Miracle would only be in Tampa about a year since Carnival was in talks to move her to China in early 2018.

So a chance that Miracle will be in Tampa for about a year, or will it leave Tampa for the summer season before going on? With no dates on the future cruise information may not be definite but thought I would ask. Thanks.
