vivianmarie244 Posted February 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2015 I've read many times that, if you avoid the peak times on the Oasis, you can avoid the massive crowds that some are complaining about. I figure 12 is the peak time for lunch. What is it for breakfast and dinner?
reedprincess Posted February 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2015 In our experience, peak breakfast time is around 7:30-8ish, especially if porting at 8. Lunch is around 11:45-1. And dinner is around 6:30-7:30. That said, even on Oasis, during those times if necessary, we've never waited in line, except MTD two nights on our first Oasis sailing, when we need table for 4 at 7pm. We only did MTD once on her, otherwise we do late seating, obviously no lines then. Lol. Breakfast, if we get up for it, is around 9 in the dining room, or 10 in buffet or Park Cafe. Lunch is often not till around 2, obviously we miss the dining room, but that's a great option for sea days, have heard nothing but good things on it. In our exoerience, the above times hit "peak" on just about every ship we've been on (35+ sailings, several lines). Our personal schedule is just off of most "normal peoples. Hubby is a musician and I'm retired, so we're night owls by nature and not morning people at all, or daily schedule even at home is off by about 6 hours from others (1:30am as I type thisbhere, and having breakfast, lol). Never fear, there are plenty of places to eat on all the ships, you won't go hungry! Have a great sailing..
molly361 Posted February 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2015 I would say peak dinner time is between 7 - 8pm Breakfast 8am unless it is a port day, then earlier
pcur Posted February 20, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2015 For MTD I was advised by the MTD reservation head waiter to come on the 15 or 45 minute after the hours. He said most people are in the habit of eating on the hour or half hour. We find 7:45 or 8:15 is pretty quiet. Also, if you reserve a table and wait staff after dinner the first night, then you pretty much get waved in as you walk up, but make sure they check your cabin number in so the staff get their tips. They will hold the table for you for a while after your reserved time.
