ROXIETHEHORSE Posted March 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2015 My husband wants to know if any of the aft suites on Emerald have any odor issues...like maybe an exhaust smell or ??? I tried a search but it does not seem to be working for me. Thanks for your help!
compozer Posted March 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2015 We were in an aft suite on the Emerald over New Years and had no issues with exhaust smells
Lovetocruiseprincess Posted March 3, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 3, 2015 Nothing that stands out but most ships have problems like that at one time or another, even the Royal as new as it is.

Colo Cruiser Posted March 3, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 3, 2015 Its not a problem, its a ship and it has to vent somewhere. There is wind and sometimes it keeps it trapped near the ship temporarily. I have smelled sewer/garbage smells (outside) on every ship we have sailed on.
TomCruises Posted March 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2015 Not so much odor issue but rather a soot issue.
2little time Posted March 3, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 3, 2015 We noticed an odor at times but not an offensive one. We also had tiny little soot balls in both instances. We were on the Caribe deck aft.
RocketMan275 Posted March 3, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 3, 2015 This thread addresses the vent which is common to all Grand Class ships, not just the Emerald. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=808951
mellon1 Posted March 4, 2015 #9 Share Posted March 4, 2015 We've been on the Emerald many times, always aft. We did notice smoke smell, but think someone was smoking on their balcony and it was blowing back...that lasted the first segment of our B2B, and then the next one there was no more smoke smell. We love the Emerald it is our fav ship and the aft is the "bomb" as my niece says.
DebJ14 Posted March 4, 2015 #10 Share Posted March 4, 2015 We were in C751 in January and had no issues with soot, noise, smells or anything else that would ruin a cruise.
Rare azbirdmom Posted March 4, 2015 #11 Share Posted March 4, 2015 We just got off the Emerald on Sunday and were in an Owner Suite - A753. Spent quite a bit of time on the balcony and there wasn't anything to smell except clean air. We could see the smoke from the ship at times but it was drafting well away from the suite.
