Labadee Cabana Nellies Upgraded Buffet

Hello

 

I noticed on my upcoming Nellies Beach Cabana booking it now states the following;

 

Meal: Upgraded lunch buffet included

 

Does anyone know what this consists of?

 

I did a Cabana in March 2014 but no upgraded buffet was provided.

ZJC, two years ago we did the over-the-water cabana at Nellie's beach and those are more expensive then the regular cabanas on Nellie's. We were given wrist bands and the cabana attendant walked us over to the Barefoot beach buffet which had an upgraded buffet. I can't remember exactly but I do know it was a more varied selection than the regular buffet and MUCH shorter lines!

I just went to look at my reservations and it now too says "upgraded lunch buffet"! I wonder if things have changed and now we get the old perk of being able to go to the BB buffet for suite guests? I will be there one week from Monday and I will be sure to report back as to what to expect when you have a cabana at Nellies Beach!

I was there last week. No wristband issued, no access to Barefoot Beach. Normal buffet only.

Strange. We were there in January with a Cabana on Nellie's and received access to the Barefoot buffet.

Not stupid at all..on the website for our cruise it says $225 and then the ones over the water are $250, but we can not reserve them online:( we have to wait until we get on the ship.

 

I am hoping we can get one!!

I just called them to see if maybe we could do a phone reservation, she said that they are up to 6 people, online it says lunch and floating mats are including and you have a cabana guy that takes care of you..also includes beach towels.

Cabanas run $175 to $250 depending on type and location. They are good for a max of 6 people. They have fans and US power outlets. They come with 4 1L bottles of Evian. The cabanas at Barefoot Beach also include an upgraded lunch buffet.

We have booked a cabana at Nellie's Beach twice. The first time the upgraded buffet was included. The 2nd time which was this past January while on Allure, our reservation said that the buffet was at the regular places and not the upgraded buffet. When we got there the attendant said that he would come and get us when it was time for lunch. He then gave us the wristband and escorted us to the upgraded buffet. It was a pleasant surprise since we did not expect it. I am wondering if they have changed their policy. It doesn't really cost them that much extra for us to go to the upgraded buffet instead of the regular buffet especially since we pay for the cabana.

Thanks for everyone's responses, seems mixed at the moment as to if you do get the upgraded one or not. Hopefully people who have been recently can let us know and of course I will post my findings!

 

I'm hoping we do get the upgraded buffet.

On our first visit in 2013 we were taken to the Barefoot Buffet

 

2015 we were driven and collected from Columbus

From my experience the upgraded buffet had shrimp kabobs and chicken kabobs on a stick as the upgrade. That's the only thing I noticed different.

Cabanas at Barefoot Beach are for Suite Only (Gold Card) guests. If there are any left over (very doubtful) then a non-suite guest can get them (I think). They would have the upgraded buffet as they are located in Barefoot Beach and you'd get the wristband.

Nellie Beach Cabanas are for anyone. We reserved ours on line about 4 months before the cruise. They were considered a "shore tour" and we just lucked out getting it. They are the same price but do not give you access to Barefoot Beach for the better buffet. You get towels, water in an ice cooler, 4 or 6 large bottles (don't remember how many), floating mats, and a cabana server who will get you whatever you want (drinks, more mats, etc.). He brought us each a fruit plate around 11 or so, and took great care of us. We tipped him very well.

We had an over water and it was wonderful. $250 for the day and up to 6 people. Since there is free access, you can really have as many as you want. We had some random people come up to ours and take pictures of the scenery. A little "weird" since they were standing on our cabana balcony with 4 of us sitting in the cabana. One guy just "hung out" there for about 10 minutes. :)

But they are very nice. If you can get one, it's well worth it.

The upgraded buffet alone makes it a good deal. No crowds makes it even better.

We had an over the water at Nellies this past January - attendant came with wrist bands and walked us over to the Barefoot Beach buffet. Nice surprise.

We had the Same Cabana on the beach and only once did we get invited to Barefoot Beach Buffet

Just back from renting a cabana at Nellie's beach. We had to ask our attendant for the wristbands for the upgraded lunch. It included steaks, lamb chops ad shrimp and scallop kabobs. Plus all the regular items.

We were in an OTW Nellies Cabana on March 19, and we were given gold wristbands - allowing access to the Barefoot buffet line.

 

To us, it's not the food (the shrimp kabobs were cold when I went), but it's the smaller lines which are the best feature!

Hi, we are booked on Serenade in December with my wife's parents and would like to get a cabana at Nellie's Beach but have read very conflicting posts about how to reserve one - can anyone advise please? We are not booked in suite's as some posts suggest they are only available for suite guests. Thanks

The cabanas on Nellie's beach are not restricted to suite guests, they are available to all. Unless something has changed recently, I believe you have to reserve on board with the Shore Excursions people.
