The Sonesta is on A1A at the corner of Sunrise Blvd. The nearest Publix is at 2501 E Sunrise Blvd - less than 3/4 of a mile away. Total Wine is in the Harbor Shops off 17th Street - about 4 miles away. Check out Google Maps or MapQuest.

A couple minutes of Google searching, I found a Publix in the Galleria, less than a mile from your hotel. Total Wine is down off 17th. On your way to the port, perhaps, but not otherwise easy.

There's also a small local wine store about a block from the hotel

Publix is located on Sunrise about a mile across the bridge and across the street from the Galleria Mall.

Just looking at the Sonesta Ft Lauderdale website says it is 7/10s of a mile from Galleria.

Well that is probably about right. The Sonesta is about 7/10ths of a mile across the bridge to the Galleria Mall. I sometimes say a mile aross bridge but it is within a mile I guess. And the Publix is directly across the street from the Galleria Mall. We are in Ft Lauderdale frequently and have walked to it when the Sonesta was the B Ocean Hotel and actually from there when it was the Holiday Inn Beach Hotel. We now prefer the Gallery One and have been staying there the last few times. Bottom line the closest Publix to the Sonesta is across street from the Galleria.
