Royal Caribbean - Self-check out at disembarkation

We'll be sailing on RC's LEGEND to Panama Canal. Does anyone know if you can "self-checkout" at disembarkation? If doing so, you don't have to leave your luggage outside your door on the night before.

We have done this last year on Celebrity. We informed the purser the night before. The following morning, after we have docked, we just went ahead with our luggage in tow and exited the ship.

Thanks for any info!

Have never personally done this. However, have sailed on numerous RC ships and this has always been available.

Towards the end of your cruise your stateroom attendant leaves a letter explaining options for disembarkation.

If you choose self-disembarkation you do not have to leave your bags out the night before, and you are instructed to line up early with your bags. These passengers are the first ones off the ship. You are warned that no assistance with bags will be available, and that you may have to "walk" "carry" them down stairs, escalators, ramps, etc.

You then have to clear customs before proceeding on your way.

Self disembarkation is handled in several ways.

As noted you can fill out the disembarkation form requesting your preference but those wishing to be first off will be instructed to gather at a specific area with their luggage. They will be given priority as will those in need of assistance (ie. wheelchairs), and several other categories like suite passengers. Once those groups have exited the ship then you can follow at your leisure until final call.

If you do not face a time crunch it is best to wait until 9 or so as the elevators and stairwells will be too crowded for you to "ease" your route off the ship.
