mpace58 Posted April 23, 2015 #351 Share Posted April 23, 2015 You and Nolan remind me of me and my Father. I tell people that I am my father's twin born 20 years late. Obviously I didn't know you years ago, but I imagine that you looked a lot like Nolan does now. :)

FRMPEI Posted April 23, 2015 Author #354 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Day 4 - St Kitts - Post Dinner Dessert Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie The warm chocolate chip cookie was darn good. I think everybody had it. Okay! I have to say this. I like Carnival's Warm Chocolate Melting Cake. Please don't ban me from the Celebrity board for saying that? A final picture before leaving the Lawn Club Grill. Twelve thumbs up! We were finished of our dinner a few minutes past 9 PM. Took this opportunity to take a few shots around the pool deck with the blue hue in the background. Sister Michele and Louis The boys Like most evenings we had no plans. So tonight we just wandered around a bit. Discovered a new mens washroom on Deck 12 (pool area smoking side covered) just past the pool doors and near the elevator. I never go near that area because of that is the covered smoking area. I will not give my opinion on smoking yet on Celebrity I will leave that to later. While we were down on deck 4 walking by the shops Adam notices a table with watches on sale. Sign reads 75% off. Adam looks at the price and sees $999 and says "$250 not bad but still an ugly watch." Then it was either us or the sales person says, "No! $999 is the sales price". Looked further and seen the non sale price of $4375. "But sir it comes in this nice case." My god the watch was chunky you would have to go to the gym and pump your arm up to wear it. Anyway here is picture of the watch we had fun with. FRMPEI Posted April 23, 2015 Author #355 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Day 4 - St Kitts - Molecular Bar Ever since our first cruise on a "S" class ships Donna and Norma Jean had promised themselves that they would try out Molecular Bar. But they never did. But with the Premium Alcohol Beverage Packages why not this time? I noticed on the menu that no drinks were greater than $13 so every thing was covered. So lets dig in shall we? Adam got a Dragonfly pretty neat with dry ice. They do warn you not to drink it until all the steam disappears. I wonder were they get their dry ice from and in what quantities. At work we buy it by the ice chest full for about $80 we use it to further chill down our chiller when we have units on our test stands. Oops! Sorry for rambling there. Adam's drink looked so good I had to order one for myself. When am I going to figure out that these drinks have real strong alcohol in them and that I will never get further than a couple of sips. I guess never when you don't pay for them. Donna tried the drink where they put a real rose in it. Donna said it was good. Now I am really not sure what sister Michele ordered in this next picture. Anybody? The boys enjoying Molecular Bar. Sister Michele My Bride and I Great it is almost 10:15 PM and across from the Molecular Bar the Store Exquisites is holding their "BLUE Diamond Event Sale" and I have a front row seat to catch all the action. Well it was a big enough event to have its own time slot in the Celebrity Today. Nobody (ZERO) showed up for the sale. Bummer! FRMPEI Posted April 23, 2015 Author #356 Share Posted April 23, 2015 Day 4 - St Kitts - Good Night So we left Molecular Bar around 11 PM and called it a night at least for us. The boys went their own way probably Quasar. Ah! There they are my Celebrity Today for St. Maarten. Next up our St Maarten's tour with Tony's Taxi. Stay tuned and please add you comments. upwarduk Posted April 24, 2015 #357 Share Posted April 24, 2015 Kevin, Was that mint sauce with the lamb chop? Coming from Wales, I was virtually brought up on lamb, but I do need mint sauce.
SavvyAdam Posted April 24, 2015 #358 Share Posted April 24, 2015 Kevin,Was that mint sauce with the lamb chop? Coming from Wales, I was virtually brought up on lamb, but I do need mint sauce. There was not mint sauce from what I remember. There was like a lime and herb one, and other BBQ sauce types. The lamb was pretty good, and this is coming from someone who is a picky eater. upwarduk Posted April 24, 2015 #359 Share Posted April 24, 2015 Glad you liked the lamb Adam. My husband doesn't, says it's too fatty to eat cold the next day. I wonder if mint sauce is a UK accompaniment? I have asked in Spain, where they were not able to supply it.

FRMPEI Posted April 24, 2015 Author #362 Share Posted April 24, 2015 That Equinox cruise may have been our favorite cruise ever. Met a lot of great people, some from Canada ;) , and had a lot of fun on our excursions. I'm not sure why I am so fascinated with the Hot Glass Show. It amazes me how they manipulate the glass. Some pieces you can see them shape right before eyes and you have a good idea what the end piece will look like. And then sometimes you don't know what it is until the very last technique. I hear yah my friend. I find myself during our annual fair/carnival that I can stand and watch a Chance Ride's Zipper. It amazes me who this simple ride based on one of the oldest amusements rides "the whip" works. Regards, Kevin Reid
FRMPEI Posted April 24, 2015 Author #363 Share Posted April 24, 2015 (edited) I forgot to ask: what was your San Juan excursion back in 2013? The way you described it reminded me of ours and, if it was the same, I agree: not very good (except the fort). I can't remember the exact name but it was just a Ship sponsored City Tour around $50 and a couple of hours long. FRMPEI Posted April 24, 2015 Author #366 Share Posted April 24, 2015 Kevin,Was that mint sauce with the lamb chop? Coming from Wales, I was virtually brought up on lamb, but I do need mint sauce. FYI Green Mint Jelly must also came over to North America from the UK because we also ask for it here. I told this story on my 2014 Equinox Trip Report. I found it pretty funny. First in night Blu and Ken was going to have the Lamb. So he asked our waiter, "do your have any mint jelly?" and with a straight face he replies... "Sorry Sir but we ran out because the crew like to use it in their hair." LOL!:):) Regards, Kevin Reid

Well maybe a little more for the US a little thing called the Boston Tea Party. Could of waited a hundred more year like us Canadians where the British couldn't get rid of her colony fast enough. Well thats my take on 300 years of the British North American Colonies history.;) Regards, Kevin Reid

FRMPEI Posted April 26, 2015 Author #375 Share Posted April 26, 2015 (edited) Day 5 - St Maarten - Ships Ships Ships... Ships in with us today at St Maarten: Regal Princess 3560 (7AM-6PM) Allure of the Seas 5400 (8AM-5PM) Silhouette 2852 (8AM-5PM) Costa Mediterranea 2114 (8AM-5PM) NCL Gem 2460 (8AM-5PM) Seven Seas Navigator 504 (9AM-6PM) Totals Passengers/Crew 16890/6850 Wow! That is a lot of passengers in today for St Maartens? Very busy today. The last three morning I have not been very successful with my attempt at capturing sunrises. So the night before I decided I would not try to capture and maybe sleep in a few extra minutes and beside this cold I had was getting me down a bit. (Here it is April 26 and that darn cold still has a slight grip on me.) Scheduled arrival time in St Maarten was 8 AM. Donna woke up at 6:20 AM and peaked out the curtain and said, "We are almost here". I quickly got dressed and got my cameras ready and I out on our balcony ready to catch all the action. Adam was also out shortly after that then followed by Nolan. If you are a cruise ship watcher like me then this morning would be a perfect day for it. Not Counting Silhouette there would be five other ships arriving including the largest cruise ship the world. Yes! we are were pretty close to arriving in St Maarten and the sun had not quite fully risen. The first ship I see is the New Regal Princess and in its own right a fairly huge ship @ 141K Gross Tonnage compared to us at 122K. The Regal Princess was preparing to back her self into the left side of the first pier. Sun not quite cracking the sky - Regal Princess This is what a Celebrity ship would look like if there was a big screen up on Deck 14/15. No thanks I think I will pass on MUTS. Back in 2013 during the President's cruise Q&A with then president Michael Bayley he had made a comment that there would never be big screens on Celebrity Ships. We will just have to wait and see what happens with the new Edge class of ships in 2018. MUTS Regal Princess IMO Regal Princess is a beautiful looking ship. If there was one cruise line that could temp us away from Celebrity I think it would be for a cruise abroad either the Regal or Royal Princess. Coming directly in behind us is the NCL Gem (who we last saw in San Juan) and that monster Allure of the Seas. When arriving in St Maarten you see two piers. Regal and Allure would be at the first one while we went bow first into the right side of the second one with NCL Gem behind us. Costa Mediterranea coming in besides us on the left later followed in by SevenSeas Navigator Picture of the available berths.
