Luggage Storage on Dawn?

Hey everyone! Hope all is well :)

We are in the process of booking a 17 night around Australia in July and it's our first time there, second with Princess (the other was on the Pacific). Considering our entire trip will be a month long and the temperatures are supposed to range between 5 and 35 Celsius, 2 suitcases each would make our lives much easier...the 'problem' is we'll be 3 in an interior and I know there is no way of storing 6 bags in such cabin. :D

Is there a formal luggage storage we could use for half of them? I have read both that there isn't one and that housekeeping can help storing. We have never needed it so I'm confused :o

Thanks for any help!

Two under the bed, and there is room for at least 2 or 3 large bags in the closet area. Follow Bruce's advice & you will be all set.

Enjoy your cruise...We loved Dawn, it was our first Princess ship.

Firstly, pack layers. Start with warm weather clothes and add layers for cooler days. On your round-Australia cruise the ports will be warm. For Sydney in July jeans or chinos are fine, with a tshirt/shirt/blouse, a light jumper or casual jacket, and a light rain jacket. If you're planning to go to Melbourne or Tasmania you might need a fleece.

Plan to use suitcases that nest inside each other. We use medium sized spinner bags (around 28") and overnight bags that sits on top. We've used this combination for several big trips around the world. The overnight bags fold up and fit inside the suitcase, and our wheelie carry-ons also fit inside each suitcase, so you only need to fit three baggage items under the bed, which should work.

We have spent approximately 250 nights on the Dawn/Sea/Sun Princess ships.

You should be able to store empty suitcases elsewhere on the ship (just ask your steward) but be aware that the wardrobes (closets) on these ships are reasonably small and enclosed!! There are drawers and shelving but hanging space is limited and we use the floor space in the closet for shoes. For two of us on short cruises it is fine.

However, we took a total of 3 suitcases on our 90 day Dawn Princess cruise (Sydney-Mediterranean-Sydney) and still needed to leave items in the suitcases due to lack of storage space - a real nuisance every time something was needed. Two suitcases fitted under the bed and the largest case was left in a corner.

You will have an extra person and will be away for a shorter period of time, so you may need to rethink your baggage/clothing requirements for convenience sake and the lack of storage space in the cabin.

Thanks for all the help! And sorry for taking so long to respond...long week

We're probably sharing the 'extra' (4th) bag with warmer clothes, and then just leaving it alone during the cruise since weather is supposed to be better...then will try to find bags that fit into each other (or at least put the carry-ons into the larger ones).

Now the problem is another cruise that might happen 2 days after we're back from Australia  but that's for another thread hahaha

Have a great weekend everyone!
