Promenade cabins on Voyager of the seas ,advice please ?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone ,

I posted about the inside virtual cabins last week ,it has made me reconsider them , so the next level up is the Promenade cabins, can anyone who has stayed in them give me some advice , what floor would you recommend ?Is it too noisy down the lower decks or am I better to get one up higher? Which is the best location close to the middle or further back towards the front ? Is there a location of the promenade that would give you the best views of the parades etc? The parades do sound like fun . Has anyone stayed in one and remember what the cabin number was, would you recommend it or not ,why ?

Or would you suggest I go up another category to an outside cabin .

I have to make my mind up by tomorrow(I have cabins on hold ) ,so please someone give me your views on this please .

Cheers Deb

Hi Deb,

We had a PR cabin on our last cruise on Voyager of the Seas. Ours was on Deck 7 opposite the General Store. We had no problems with any noise from the Promenade or from neighbouring cabins.

I wouldnt hesitate in booking one again in the future. Although at the moment, curiousity would have me booking a Virtual Balcony Inside cabin, just to see what they're like!!

But as you're unsure, I'd go with the PR cabin - either on Deck 7 or 8.

I too had a PR cabin on our last Voyager Cruise. We were on deck 8 over the customer service area. Would I book it again - YES. There was very little noise to be heard and good to get light into our cabin and be able to look at the promenade deck below when we felt like it. Great price also.

We had a PR cabin on the 3 day Voyager cruise in Feb. Deck 8 cabin no 8301, great location and heard no noise from the promonade.

We left our curtains open during the day, and was great to have natural light. Just remember to close them when you are getting changed:eek:

We would book this type of cabin again, if we couldnt afford a balcony.

Cheers

Tanya

If I were going a PR cabin, I'd probably go deck 7, and around the 25/75 mark. You also want line of sight to the bridge which is where the speeches and speakers are on.

As for going outside, they're two different things. Comes down to personal preference. That said, it's _easier_ to get a view outside if you want it and leave the cabin, then it is to get a good view of the parade, as the space is more limited inside.

  • 3 weeks later...

We had a promenade cabin and while it was fun watching the world go by sometimes (esp. one of the parades), the cabin definitely seemed smaller somehow. Also, be sure to close your curtains! If you can get a cabin near the center you will be better off. I upgraded my dd and sil's inside cabin to a promenade once as a gift, and specifically spoke to RCI about it's location and what the view would be, as well as the T/A that had their booking. Both assured me the view would be great. It appeared to be far enough from the ends of the promenade to have a view. However, it overlooked the stairwell going down to the next deck (I think the ice rink was down there). About 2 levels above the stores, etc., is o.k. I wouldn't get the level right above them.

Actually, the casino. ;-)

You are right, Big M. It's between deck 5 and 4, between the promenade and casino. Just got it mixed up with an odd thing that looks like it's maybe a stairwell between decks 2 and 3 near the rear elevators on the Explorer, which I have been looking at for another cruise.
