LOL I give up! Until we find out, I just want to see the menu's:D I never liked the MB and I feel this is much more to my "taste".

Right...the business arrangement really doesn't matter...I'd like to see the drinks and the prices too.

Hate to correct you, but the martinis at the Martini Bar are 8 ounce pours made with premium level liquors such as Grey Goose, Ciroc, etc. The other bars make 5 ounce pour martinis made with classic level stuff such as Stoli or Absolute. The 5 oz pours are also only regular martinis made with vodka or gin as well as cosmos and appletinis.

That's alright I don't mind correcting you... My point was you don't go to the martini bar and ask for a large dry martini you ask for a dry martini?? [emoji57]

I reckon that within a year, the large Martini's at the Martini Bar are outside of the premium package.

There not large martini's there just martini's so why would they?

Yet another post to try & stir up the thread again to get more people moaning! [emoji57]

They are large martinis at the Martini Bar because they are 8 ounces each. The other bars on the ship serve smaller 5 ounce versions. The only smaller versions you can get at the Martini Bar are the micro versions that are part of the martini fleet which is on the menu.

Exposing my complete lack of sophistication, what is a 25 year martini? A 20 year? Usually drink martini's but have not heard of these. Neither has google.

I'm guessing a celebrity special!

Why would you have to guess? Since you have taken 5 past X cruises and you seem to be an authority on a few different threads regarding the consumption of alcohol on Celebrity, you should already know about the 20 year Martini from seeing it on the menu.

But then again with your great spin doctoring abilities, I can only assume that you're possibly a barrister, that's what lawyers are called across the pond, right?

I guess because I've never had one and not read up on it... So my response of I guess is because I GUESS!! [emoji57]

I've never claimed to be an expert on anything to do with celebrity I just try to post what I believe to be correct & not mislead anyone with false information...

I've also flown on virgin Atlantic x 10 times but I don't know how to fly the thing!! [emoji23]

So they have small martinis & standard martini's @ the martini bar... If you can show me the menu that states you can order a small martini or a large martini then I'll agree with you... But until then the correct info is you order a martini at the martini bar not a large option!! [emoji57]

Anyone that has had a standard martini at the martini bar will agree that they are of a larger portion compared to some ships/bars but the point is you order & pay for a standard off the menu martini in a standard size glass for the celebrity martini bar!! [emoji483][emoji41]

Ultimately, the amount of the upcharge isn't really relevant. (To stem off the next argument of "It's only $3!!!!!11 if you can't spend $3, don't cruise!!!!!!".) It's the friction of having to think about it at all. I'm on vacation. I don't want to be doing math in my head while looking at the menu or stressing about what I'm "allowed" to have. I don't find it fun, and I'm not one of the "I'm on vacation so there's no budget!" types.

Is this argument any different than the expecting all wines stocked by Celebrity should be not only available by the glass, but also be within the premium package?

It's really no hassle when checking the wine list to see a glass of wine that is within or over the current $13 per glass limit. I managed last cruise and still had a marvellous, stress free vacation [emoji38]

Why on earth would it be difficult to spot the few cocktails over that limit and choose whether to partake or not. Gosh it's a lot easier than walking into a land based bar deciding if I go for a $15 'standard' cocktail or lash out for a 'premium' one at $18 !!

It just seems many have a line drawn firmly in the sand and are set for upset as a result.

By the way, I've posted on both Celebrity US and UK FB pages requesting drink prices so we have some actual facts to work with. Lol, I'm not holding my breath as to what they reply...here's hoping the land based team even know they have a new venue on board [emoji6]

I've also asked on Twitter so we will have to see who gets a response sooner... My guess is neither!! [emoji16]

That is of course if I'm allowed to have a guess on these boards!! [emoji57][emoji23]

Great result Mr T!! So only 3 'speciality' drinks are outside of the premium pkg. So even though over $13 they are going to include them (or the pkg cap may be shifted to allow for them?)

I can easily live with that, and they aren't that much ore expensive if I want to give one a try!!

Hope you get the upload sorted! I find using Tapatalk app on my iPad makes uploading pics and stuff so much easier!

This is all hypothesis: Diagio may well be paying Celebrity to feature their brands at a special bar...as part of diagio's advertising and marketing. It would be no different than the photographers on board, the art auction, the shops and until recently, the casino, all of which are or in the case of the casino, were franchises that pay Celebrity for the space and likely share some portion of revenue. One clue will be if you see the world class bartenders at any other bars or serving drinks at any other bar on the ship....my bet is you won't....If I'm right, they work for Diagio just as the spa area works for Canyon ranch, not celebrity and the glass blowerswork for the corning museum.

But that's all behind the scenes stuff...to you and I, it's just another interesting bar option.

I don't know about the bar tenders from World Class working at other bars but I DO know for a fact that the glass blowing artists can earn extra money doing other things around the ship.

I can't remember exactly how I found out but it was explained to me that auxiliary staff can earn extra by signing up when they need extra help.

I hope you are right, but It is not how I read that, but I could be wrong of course. I read it as the $15 drinks are included meaning you pay the two dollars extra; but the "rituals" are not included and you pay the full price.

Oh you could be spot on there,,. Re reading Mr T's post I could certainly interpret that way also. Not sure why they'd want to do that but heck they may be 3 super special spectacular cocktails [emoji13][emoji483][emoji12][emoji483][emoji16] !!

As this is a UK question I guess they have included the tips in the price as I believe on UK sailings the advertised menus/prices include the tips in the price... Not 100% on that but I'm pretty sure that's what I've heard...

I have asked for clarification regarding the up charge on the 3 not included in the package!

I believe the standard ones are fully included & the others will just be the difference in cost Vs the package!

FOLKS: remember OP is on UK sailing, therefore his prices will be INCLUSIVE of the required gratuity as is custom/law in the UK - all drinks packages on the ship the ship are "increased" to cover the normal threshold pricing plus gratuity, and rounded off - this 'nuance' is often missed in these threads.

So even martini bar, pricing would be shown as $15 there, and still included in premium packages.

The question is whether or not the $18 drinks (which are probably $15 before gratuity (18% of $15 is "about" $3) are included or not.

(Let me re-word that question. Will the $18 (or $15 before gratuity) drinks be $2 plus gratuity for people with the premium package or will they be outside of any package?)

Just as the Martini flights at the Martini Bar are not included in any package.
