Yay hoping to hear about legs 2 and 3 of the cruise. I think we recieved THE best service ever on the first leg of the cruise. It was great to meet you in person.

How,is the internet connection during your trip.

There are just hot spots so it comes and goes depending where were are. It works most of the time in the cabin but it should since we are right next to the Business Center.

We have had a change of plans here in San Francisco. After spending half the day walking around Marie's knee swelled up and it's giving her fits so we bypassed our trip out to Alcatraz yesterday.

 

Today we are staying on board so she can rest so later I will go explore the ship and take pictures for those of you wanting to see what Jewel looks like.

Sorry to hear that, Alcatraz is a neat thing to see. Hopefully you'll get to visit next time.

 

I was wondering if you've been to the Sea View at all? And if so, how was it? I'm excited about getting to go there one last time before Jewel loses hers, I believe she is the last in the fleet that hasn't been converted.

Great review so far, Bill--I've just gotten caught up!...what an interesting itinerary--looking forward to more, and hope Marie is on the mend soon.

 

Love the Radiance class ships, the Jewel is one of my all time faves. Got a long stretch until my Brilliance sailing, so thanks for letting us hop on "virtually" to yours! BTW, did you ever get through "Understanding Exposure"?

Thought since we hadn't heard from you that you got locked in a cell on Alcatraz ;). We went on a daytime tour years ago. That was creepy enough (especially being shut in a solitary confinement cell), night time would have been really scary!

This was one of the reasons we booked Jewel this fall. We loved Seaview on Serenade and wanted to enjoy it one last time! I would love to see pics of the ship......getting excited to go back to the smaller ship after sailing Allure and Quantum.

I didn't get through the whole book though hit into some of the important parts then promptly forgot it. I'll go back through it wham I get home.

Ship looks pretty empty with the outside pool area really empty, it's nice to have a quiet ship once in a while, still looks colder than normal

Yes, departure scheduled for 5:00pm, delayed by the fact that one of our gas turbines wouldn't start, supposedly fixed and rescheduled for 9:00. At that point, the Captain said we could make up the lost time. Latest word, shortly after 9:00, is that engine still won't start, we'll be informed of any progress!
