Web cams not what they used to be

It has been quite a while since I checked out cruise Web Cams on Princess and note that you no longer have the atrium web cam on any of the ships. I'm not sure if the web cam on the bridge is activated as it stayed the same for the several minutes in was up on my computer. Is this a recent change? Was it a security concern? Kind of miss it as it was nice to watch when anticipating an upcoming cruise.

The only webcams Princess has ever had have been the bridge cams and the wedding cams. I've never seen one of the atrium area. Perhaps you are confusing it with a different line?

I remember there was an atrium cam when we were on the Sea Princess in 2003. We tried to time it so some relatives could see us on the ship. It didn’t work out though.

Yes Sea Princess had an atrium cam.

 

The cams are all usually working and change accordingly.

Sometimes they are down for a period.

The web cams are dependent on sat connection and bandwith. If the bandwith is getting tight due to usage or low signal they will update much less frequently if at all

It has been many years since they had the atrium web cams, but I do remember them.

Yes web cams are rather boring now.

I never find the bridgecams "boring', and check them almost daily to see if any of the ships are in ports I have been to on previous cruises so I can have a brief "revisit".

Some web cams show port etc, may be even move during the day to a more interesting view,

 

others just point forward, showing nothing,

 

its a pity that some crew take an interest others do not.

 

atrium cam was 10 years ago, but was interesting back in the days when you

 

needed head sets to listen to MUTS

I'm trying to follow my brother-in-law's cruise on the Royal via webcam, but it's stuck on May 24th (Dublin). I know for a fact that the Royal is now in Belfast. I told my brother-in-law to have the captain fix that webcam. It's ruining my vicarious cruise. :)
