Alaska From San Francisco

Celeberity once posted a 14 night round trip from San Francisco & then sold the ship for 6 nights as a floating hotel ,cancelling that cruise . :o

The ports on the 14 night cruise were wonderful & it is far less costly to arrive in SF than in Vancouver . :)

Do you think if folks asked to have this cruise reconstructed that Celebrity would listen ?

=X= may listen, but I doubt they're looking for outside suggestions on potential itineraries. And this coming from someone who lives in the SF Bay Area and would give strong consideration to such an itinerary. JMHO.....

They couldn't offer SF to Honolulu, but they could offer It as a round trip, SF-Honolulu-SF. A one way would violate the PVSA as they would not be able to stop in a distant foreign port so it would have to be a round trip. That makes lots of (potentially rough) Pacific sea days

No. I think Celebrity looked at revenue/expenses for that itinerary vs whatever else they could do with a ship for two weeks and that itinerary lost.

Princess has a ship homeported in San Francisco doing 10 day Alaska round trip cruises. That probably puts a big dent in the pool of potential passengers for a longer cruise.

Holland America has a true 14 day Alaskan itinerary (no repeat ports) sailing RT from Seattle. Includes several little visited ports like Kodiak, Homer, Anchorage (the city itself - not Whittier or Seward), Sitka, and ISP, along w/the usual 'suspects' of Ketchikan and Juneau, a full day in Victoria, BC, and glacier sailing of Tracy Arm.
