Panama Canal On the Legend April 14th-29th 2015 PHOTO REPORT

Recommended Posts

Nothing more relaxing than sea days after some serious port activiting, right?

Have a look at some things we did those days.

The Quest.

After the cruise we spent 3 days in Fort Lauderdale.

We rented an apartment on the Isle of Venice, called Las Olas Royal Apartments. Definitely recommended. Great location and... well. Just look at the balcony. I mean really. Showy much?

We might have also had some fun. Judging by the photos, purely.

After Fort lauderdale we all flew to different destinations again. Ann went to Los Angeles to work, Anouk and Thommo flew home and me and my husband spent one more night in Miami courtesy of a cancelled flight by AA.

No worries, we got pizza out of it. And an extra hotel night. And vouchers. So we are good.

OK. Time for a little recap.

No need to plan in advance.

In every port there were plenty of tours available right at the pier.

Everybody spoke excellent English and if you want to brush up your Spanish, that would work too since Central American Spanish is easy to understand.

Haggling was received very well and done with enthusiasm.

Plenty of souvenirs available everywhere and prices are not at all high.

The weather is very hot so use sunscreen, drink water and wear a hat. Really. please. You'll thank me and yourself later for doing what I just told you to do. Seriously. I promise.

Other passengers on this cruise were older than we are used to Royal but after 45 days on HAL....

The Legend is in good shape. We found both the ship and staff wonderful (except for one person but that's not bad out of 800, right?) and will definitely recommend Panama Canal.

CD Keith Williams was professional but quite a bit less flamboyant than many others we've seen.

If you have any questions, I'll be happy to try to provide you with an answer.

Our next cruise is in October. On the Allure. On the Med. We are 16 people in the group. What on earth possessed me to gather a group that big (with my relatives in it ) is beyond me...

But as everyone else disembarks in Barcelona after a week, me, lowry and Thommo will continue to Fort Lauderdale.

Now that cruise I can't wait to happen!! :D

Great photos and review, thanks. :D

I am wondering if there is an outdoor seating area for the Windjammer (other than around the pool)

No outdoor WJ seating like on Radiance class ships.

Thanks very much for an excellent review!

19 Days on Allure

I could have done with an extra 12 days after my cruise last week on Allure.

She's in great shape and I'm all 16 of you will have a great cruise!

We've done 7 days both on the Oasis and the Allure.

Was nowhere near enough.

We'll see if 19 days does it [emoji3]

Thanks for the work & humour you put into this great review! We will be spending 18 nights on Legend next April sailing from Brisbane (Australia) to Hong Kong with some interesting ports along the way.

Legend introduced us to cruising so we're looking forward to having her in our Australian waters each year for our summer season.

Sinppu, thanks for a great and humorous review. We were also on this trip and I enjoyed seeing your pictures from the places we didn't get to! Cartagena was also my favorite port! I loved the bright colors, house doors on the houses and the culture! It's a trip we plan to do again!! I'm sorry we didn't meet up onboard!

Thank you so much for your review. We did the same cruise last November but we left from Fort Lauderdale and ended up in San Diego. It was a great cruise and your pictures helped me remember all the places we went to. You did not mention Noro, Noro, Noro except in the beginning so I am thinking you had no problems with this sickness. Looking forward to your next review. :D
