MCC retired Posted June 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2015 The TA will be able to do it for you. All TA's are not the same , interview them first as to any Fee's for changes and to ask what they will offer you . Friend, relatives, neighbors and co workers who cruise can steer you to a good TA I'm sure .

KS Sunflower Posted June 22, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 22, 2015 You'll have to do your own research on finding a travel agent. Cruise Critic does not allow mention of specific agents. Click on deals at the top of this page and you may get some info there. There is an online form you can use to transfer your booking, when you find a travel agent. Remember, you only have 60 days to transfer your booking from Royal Caribbean and your cruise cannot be paid in full.
skiiergirl Posted June 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2015 How do I go about this? Does one agency give more perks than the others? Thanks The best "perk" out there is GREAT service! Go for a TA that will give the best service (allow price drops, cabin changes, etc without a fee) not necessarily one that offers the most "freebies" at a quick glance. (And no...I am not a TA! We just love ours though as she provides great service and we consider that a "perk" these days. Can't mention names though!)

We just love ours though as she provides great service and we consider that a "perk" these days. Can't mention names though!) AGREE! We have used the same TA for years. No perks other than great service. But all I do is email or call and whatever I need is done. She fights for good deals for me and always gets them. On the other hand a friend decided to use an agency for the $100 OBC. I sat with her and explained to her while she was on the phone to the TA so she could explain to him how a Future Cruise coupon works. They tried to apply a lower rate before final payment and he couldn't figure it out. So, for me, it isn't worth $100 OBC for incompetence. Personally I believe that you get what you pay for. I know there are many great TA's that offer perks, but IMHO if they have to offer you something to get your business, well, there's a reason. One other comment, some TA's charge a cancellation fee even before final payment.
impatientlywaiting Posted June 23, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 23, 2015 Or you can just keep the reservation yourself and always have full control over it. I like being able to contact RCI directly and not have to go through a TA and wait for an answer. My first cruise I had a wonderful TA. Second cruise, not so much and they were cruise only specialists. Every cruise since I've kept it myself and have been very happy about it. But that's just me! camofwilliamsburg Posted June 23, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 23, 2015 You are not maximizing what a TA an give you back in OBC as a gift if you give the ship your booking directly. It only takes one call or email to your TA to notify them of a change that you see and a good TA will do it for you. Takes an extra step but usually the gifts and the great service make that one step not a bother! Royal Caribbean works well with TA and encourages you to use one! There are no discounting on the cruise. The TA may be able to find promos that you cannot and most TA will also gift you some obc or wine or something which comes from their commissions.
