CatsareCool Posted July 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2015 Back in March, my husband and I (both Elite) and my daughter (Platium) sailed on the Royal. When we printed out the luggage tags mine and my DH both say "Elite". My DD's simply said "Welcome Aboard". First time I had seem "Welcome Aboard", but I was paying attention to luggage tags at the pier and they all said that instead of the gold...ruby...platium. We received our luggage about 2 hours before DD. I know that luggage in the same cabin can and frequently does arrive at various times. We haven't sailed since then. Is this the norm now, or was it test, or just on the Royal?
skynight Posted July 8, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2015 As far as I am aware and according to my experience there is no priority luggage delivery for Captain's Circle Elite passengers. I don't think it really matters what Captain's Circle status is printed on the luggage tag. I'm thinking it is just how your luggage gets placed on the pallets, and how they are unloaded. As an elite myself I have received luggage really soon after boarding, mid afternoon and even at dinner time.
john watson Posted July 8, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2015 My experience has seemed to suggest that if you are a higher status level your suitcases turn up earlier usually. This is based on my daughter's cases never arriving before mine. It does not hurt to simply print out all labels at the highest level as you all can recognise your own cases and identify them to officials if required. Colo Cruiser Posted July 8, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2015 They do not arrive earlier if you have a higher status level. Not had luggage arrive before 6 in the last 6 plus cruises, and we get there early! Actually if they say Elite they may arrive after 6.

Is this the norm now, or was it test, or just on the Royal? I just printed out our luggage tags for the Ruby and the Star. My Mom is elite and I'm platinum. Her tags say Elite but mine just says Welcome Aboard. As you mention, they used to list your captain circle level. Maybe Princess is changing things up a bit? As long as my luggage makes it to the room before we set sail, I don't panic.
Thrak Posted July 8, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 8, 2015 I'm Platinum. I just looked at the luggage tag for my upcoming cruise and it says Welcome Aboard. I'm fine with that. As long as I get to board the ship and my luggage makes it to my cabin I don't care what the tag says. :)
