Enjoying your reviews as always Jeff. I just finished reading Kim's (GAPearl) Birthday cruise review. You and Kim are two of my favorite Carnival Reviewers. My son and I went on our first cruise on the Splendor two years ago and when I read Splendor Reviews it brings back lots of good memories for us. Anybody who hasn't done a NY sailaway down the Hudson has got to do one. It is marvelous. My son also just graduated from High School.

Have been looking forward to a good Jamman54 review every since u got off the pride! Also something funny I stayed in the exact same room as you back when I sailed splendor in 2013! Great room loved the balcony and that the bed faced the windows so you can see the sun come up in the morning! Keep up the great work, can't wait to read the rest!

As always, looking forward to your review. I always love taking photos of the Erie Lackawanna. I don"t know why but I love it :)

Thanks for reading!! We take that photo every time we sail from New York, and sometimes when we sail back in! :)

Thanks for following along once again. NYC sailings are truly awesome. Congrats on your son's HS graduation!

What a great, detailed review! Probably the best one I've read so far. I'm really hoping to do the Splendor out of Miami this winter for our first cruise and this review has me really looking forward to it!

Did you happen to take any pictures of the kids' club? It's supposed to be the biggest one on Carnival and two stories tall?

Also, which of the restaurants are included and which are extra?

Thanks!

Thanks for following along! Patti really loved that cabin, and wants to book similar ones in the future!

Ahh bringing back memories. We sailed her with the same itinerary a couple weeks before on June 9th! Great log.

Thanks for reading! As you know, she's a great ship, and that itinerary is awesome.

Loving this review, we were on this cruise. We had a great time, one of our best cruises ever. Looking forward to more!

Thanks for reading! Did we meet at all on board?

Glad you are enjoying the review! Not really sure what you mean about the kids club. None of them on the Splendor are two levels. Camp Carnival, up to 11 years of age, is on deck 10. Circle "C", for the 12 to 14 year olds is on Deck 4 in the Atrium. Club O2, for the 15 to 17 year olds, is on deck 5. Shots from Club O2 were posted in the last segment, and we will be posting some from Circle "C", and Camp Carnival in upcoming segments.

The only pay restaurant on the Splendor is the Pinnacle Steakhouse.

Hello again everybody! Time to tell you about our first day at sea…..

CS0339.jpg

We woke up about 8am after a good night’s sleep. It wasn’t raining but the skies were overcast, so there will be no sunrise pictures today. The seas were fairly calm though it was a bit breezy out…..

It looks like we missed that storm…..

CS0343.JPG

We got dressed and made our way to the Gold Pearl Restaurant for the Sea Day Brunch. There was a little bit of a line to get in, but it moved quickly. The Gold Pearl Restaurant and her chandeliers…..

Patti had a cheese and tomato omelet with a side of turkey bacon…..

I had my favorite, the huevos rancheros…..

After the brunch, Patti and I made our way to the Spectacular Lounge for a round of bingo. Now Patti and Ryan always seem to do well at bingo, so I hope my presence there doesn’t jinx Patti! Anyway, here is the bingo schedule for our cruise, and the prices for the bingo cards and daubers…..

CS0357.jpg

It was a three game set, and of course I put the hex on Patti. When you get one number away from winning you are supposed to stand up. Patti and I sat on our butts the whole time!! Afterwards, I decided to go test my luck in the casino, while Patti was going to stay for the Fun Ashore, Fun Aboard presentation, hosted by our Cruise Director Malcolm “Whoo Hoo” Burn…….

Patti said he was extremely funny, and to top it off, she won a free VIP excursion for two in Nassau. It was for the catamaran sail and snorkel tour, and would have cost us $120 if we booked it ourselves. However, we had our plans already set for our day in Nassau, so we gave the free tour to a couple of our fellow roll call members, who were really appreciative of that…..

Patti had planned to meet up with me in the casino after the presentation, but of course, once she starts taking pictures, she can’t help herself!! Lol. Let’s see what she was up to. The Pixels Photo Gallery, Deck 4, atrium…..

I checked all day hoping your review would continue~and it did!!! We have 1 more day and getting more excited as I read your review. It looks like bingo is only a few times on this cruise, which is fine. On NCL, I swear it seems like every hour a new Bingo game starts. LOL I was hoping the Splendor had a Library and Patti snapped a picture of it~every cruise I borrow a book from the ships library!! The Sea Day Brunch looks amazing and we are all looking forward to it. I was sad to read the Splendor is leaving NYC and saw you already booked the Sunshine, like you I love cruising out of NYC, I will have to check it out for next summer. I teach also!! Thanks again for taking the time to again write an exceptional review!! Happy Cruising!! :D
