nycruiser80 Posted July 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2015 (edited) On Facebook I am a member of the Classic Ocean Liners & Vintage Ship group. Someone posted these revised deck plans of decks - 13, 3, 2. Not sure if these are official, as Cunard has not updated their US site from what I could see. In any case maybe these will assist some of you with your future cruise bookings. Not sure if I like the single cabins taking up the walkway space on deck 3. I always felt the Kings Court should have been created on deck 13 not in its present space. Too bad they can't move the Kings Court up to deck 13! Rare rafinmd Posted July 16, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2015 This is really strange. From the US when I first looked at Ray66's post I saw NOTHING. I quoted his post and found the references to the attachments and plugged one into a new browser tab. When I did that what I got was a login screen for the UK site. After logging in, I can read Ray66's post as it was just fine. Roy
Ray66 Posted July 16, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 16, 2015 I'm not sure those are showing as I've just looked on another computer and they're not there. So I'll try again.
Rare 3rdGenCunarder Posted July 16, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 16, 2015 If these turn out to be true, the loss of one of the walkways will make it even more difficult to get to the Queens Room, especially for the cocktail parties when there's always a queue. The walkway space explains the oddly shallow but wide cabins in the layout Cunard released, although the cabins in the former casino area will be the more standard narrow but deep. Will they have the large windows that are there now? No wonder Stephen Payne disembarked in NYC. People would be hounding him for comments/information! Underwatr Posted July 17, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 17, 2015 I have to say that despite never using the casino I'm not a fan of putting a row of staterooms across from the Golden Lion. I guess I'm OK with putting some where the photo store is...
canoncruiser Posted July 17, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 17, 2015 I understand your concern about the proximity to the Golden Lion, but when I was on QV two months ago I checked out the new singles which were carved out of the Casino. They seem to have done a very good job creating a sense of separation from the Casino. I expect they will do the same on QM2; well, let’s hope Dr. Payne’s skills will do so. The drawing of the cabins on Deck 2 suggest large spaces; the singles on QV, and I suppose QE, did not provide space for an easy chair, much less a sofa. They felt comfy but under furnished. I hope the new cabins on Deck 13 don’t upset the profile of the ship. I am looking forward to further revelations.:D
