How Are People Feeling about C&A Benefits?

Recommended Posts

Gday Guys,

my first post on CC!

Stayed in a GS on Radiance in March this year, it was awesome.

Im assuming that the suite guests perks are separate to C&A levels unless you are Diamond or higher?

The suite guests perks are great.

priority boarding, Concierge Lounge access, free drinks 5-830 pm (with a roadie for dinner in MDR), reserved seating for all shows, priority tender services, tour of the bridge, lunch with officers in speciality restaurant .

we don't do many cruised but when we do its always going to be a suite!

2 more cruises in suites & we get to diamond with C&A

Cheers

One of the benifits Royal gives out that I personally love the most is a perk everyone gets.

When I book my aft balcony.......Royal doesn't charge me more to look out over the wake.

As far as I know......all other cruise lines charge extra to have an aft balcony and call it Sunset or Premium View.

No premium price for the hump either....

Thanx RCL!! I'm sure they've thought about it??

We started out being loyal to Royal but in my opinion Loyalty Programs are not worth limiting yourself to one cruise line!! Since becoming "free agents", we've been on four other cruise lines and now just shop for itinerary, price and service. If I happen to get some benefit from a loyalty program it's just icing on the cake!

Royal has a very nice program and if you view the benefits as 'extras' and not entitlements that are permanent, you will always enjoy them. We like Royal over Celebrity when it comes to the Club benefits.

Well said & totally agree. When we tell non cruising people they are always pretty impressed, and actually I think half the time they don't believe how much we get. :)

Every time I read one of the threads about the C&A benefits I am constantly amazed at how many people claim that the program is worse than before. We've been C&A members since 1983 and overall the program is better now than before. Getting things for free...how can that be bad??? Every time anyone compares the C&A program to other cruise lines the C&A program is cited as having better benefits. Many people comment that the really good stuff does not start until you get to Diamond. That's not a huge mountain to climb in the relative scope of things. You can get to Diamond with 5-10 cruises.

So, to the OP point, we love our C&A program.
You guys sell Royal better than Royal does! :p
Yes, and Royal doesn't pay us to do so...

So makes you wonder why we do it, must be coz they have built goodwill with us all through the years???... if you watch one of the C&A video, one of their executives said that Diamonds and above members tend to sell RCL better than he does...

and he might be right..

but of course, even my bad experiences, I have reported to this forum in fairness... so they do have shortcomings and are not perfect, no cruise line is.. but overall they made up for it in some other ways...

That seems to be the perception. Our difference is we have been moving up the ladder for 11 years. C&A benefits have seemed to get better and better every year. :D

I also love the benefits of Royal Caribbean C&A. My Father and I will be Emerald after this next 14 night cruise. We have taken the Serenade 14 night, Navigator 15 night and Splendour 14 night and now with the upcoming Explorer 14 night we will be Emerald and on our way to Diamond.

The tip is to book as many nights as possible and rack up the nights. For me cruising is not all about the benefits. Sure its nice to have bathrobes, priority checkin balcony discounts and Top Tier Party but that is not the reason to be cruising. If you are basing your cruiseline of choice based upon the benefits you may not be getting the best value for your money.

What you need to consider is the benefits are just that and loyalty is fine and dandy but what would you say if your pocketbook takes a hit for more on a shorter cruise? Keep on sailing on Royal but do reconsider your cruising style.

I think the C&A benefits are amazing. On our last cruise we used the Diamond Club, extra bingo cards, drink coupons, free 8x10 picture, laundry discount, and enjoyed the bottles of water they put in our room as our "gifts". We even had fun one afternoon trying the free spins in the casino. We're not gamblers, but we won a couple of key chains.

We also really enjoyed getting to know the concierge (Sucel) and she helped us book excursions and find information on another cruise we wanted to investigate. In addition she just was very friendly and made our cruise more enjoyable by greeting us each evening.

We enjoyed the balcony discount as well. I think different people enjoy different parts of the benefits.

As someone said, the benefits are free so there's no reason not to use them. I don't know if we'd make having the benefits the only part of our cruise planning, but we do always consider them and appreciate them.
