Windstar cruises - solo

Since Windstar is waiving or lowering its solo supplement charge, I'm thinking of giving it a try. Does anyone have any experience sailing solo on this line?

Would love to try Windstar but would have to be solo - hubby is not interested & my parents not adventurous. Please post about your trip if you decide to go!

I would not expect more than a couple more solos onboard. Just not the kind of ship to attract them. Just off Oceania (600 passengers), maybe 30 solo ladies and 3 solo guys. Same with Star Clipper.

Is this something on their website? I always sail solo and would love

to try them. Having other solo cruisers on board makes no difference

to me.;)...as long as people are friendly, that is more important to me

than if they are sailing solo.

My travel agent just got back from a fam trip on Windstar. He thought it was a great trip for him and his partner, but there were only 143 pax in total, he strongly recommended I not consider it for a solo. I got the impression nightlife was so dull, it made Holland America look good.

I second this, have always wanted to try Windstar but they were not in my price range. If they have lowered it I'd love to try them. Like Lois, I don't care who's on board, always travel solo, just love being on the water. :)

if I want to splurge and try one. Even with the low SS, they are more

than I normally spend.........they have a list of different SS, some with

none and then a breakdown of those with 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%.

I've emailed them for a quote, not all the cruises have the free stuff. I'm looking into the ones that do. :D:D

but am looking at River Cruises too........they are 2 totally different

experiences (from everything I have read).....but I am really interested

Hey Celeste:)....if I do a Clipper ship, I will do Windstar....more money

but my sis and bil have been on Windstar and they LOVED it.......:D

 

I will take another look at Star Clipper........I might not have given them

all my attention:)..

and LOVED THEM......my sister and bil have done several and always

have a good time:D...and they have done Windstar as well!
