how do you pre-pay tips

Recommended Posts

Can someone tell where I go on the Royal Caribbean site, to pre-pay my tips? Does it have to be done before final payment? Thanks

Just sign up for anytime dining, or what ever they call it, and they make you prepay. Never heard of that on anyother line I have sailed. Just doesn't make any sense to me.

It was a month ago when I booked.

That's right around the time that it changed. If you book on line then I believe that it still lists the gratuities but if you call they can be removed and added to your account daily on board.

If you would like to prepay your gratuities, you can just have them added to your booking invoice and they will be included in your final payment. You have to call RCI or whomever you booked with to have this done as it can't be done on line.

Not sure if you have seen the Canadian Cruisers thread but of you purchased your cruise in CDN$ then you can buy US$ OBC at the exchange rate of 110%.

$500 US OBC will be charged to your Canadian credit card in the amount of $550 CDN. All fully refundable in US$ if you don't spend it all. Call C&A or Gifts & Gear to purchase.

I didn't do anything on my last several cruises. The gratuities have been automatically added.

If you want to change it, you can always go to guest services on the ship.

We usually give some extra cash when the service is really good -- which it almost always is.

Also, drinks you pay for always have 18% added automatically.

Room service does not have a tip added except from something like midnight to 5am.

A couple of USA dollars usually is OK for room service -- so bring some single dollars. You can get change at the casino or guest services if needed.

Note that suggested gratuities went up again. I think it is over $12 per person now -- more if you have a suite.

Still it is worth it for what these attendants and waiters do.

"I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. When I returned, my bed was made."
