Haven't heard great stuff about Rob McNally. Was he any good hosting the shows?

 

Morning Shows were OK - Elise (activities manager) and Rob had quite good 'banter' but have seen better.

 

Evening show intros were pretty standard. He's a scouser so tries a few gags from the 80's, but otherwise a bit of next day port info, and an intro to the guest. No more than that, and plenty of crew could have done it - nothing special

 

Never saw him on the promenade :(

Joff's my favourite CD. Had him 4 times. Very funny. Make sure to be out on deck in port. He'll make fun of all the smaller ships. He also does a great morning show.

 

Can agree about Joff, he was brilliant on our Indy cruise back in 2011 and his catch phrase then was 'crickey'

Sailed Grandeur in March with Paul Rutter and he's not one of the the most visible CDs but neither are Ricky Mathews and Ken Rush. Paul did a good job and his staff was excellent during various activities such as trivia, etc. I must be in the minority but I like John & Katrina Blair. They have always been courteous, friendly and taken the time to converse with us when we meet around the ship and last week on Anthem we had several morning conversations in the Diamond lounge. If everyone liked the same people or things, the world would be a much less interesting place.

 

I know Ken gets a lot of stick on here but I thought he was one of the most visible cruise directors. When he was on Independence he was regularly stood on the gangway saying hello. I can't recollect any others doing this.

I also have to say Ken Rush for is a very good cruise director,I been on 6 cruise with him and never was bored .ken is one off my favorites

I liked Ken too, he was more than happy to stop for a chat and a photo! The jokes are obviously recycled week in, week out but they felt as if he was just saying them off the cuff. He's very good!

Absolutely agree. We had Ken on our first cruise, on the Indy when she was brand spanking new, and he was highly visible, very chatty and approachable. We spoke with him about a trip we were planning, and fully a week later, he came up to us and asked how it went. Top CD in my view.

We were on Anthem with Abe in March. He is an excellent host, runs an effective activities team, is funny and accessible but not annoying or in-your-face. We really liked him!

Freedom: When does Casey's break begin, and who will be the covering CD? Will Casey return to FR after his break?

 

Mariner: Handover date between Fang and Keith? It should be soon, like this week.

 

Oasis: Handover date between Patricio and Drew?

 

Radiance: When does Jamie leave (he is due on another ship on Sept 19, so it must be before then) and who will be the next CD?

 

Vision: Is Mercedes onboard for 2 months (late August) or longer? Who will be the next CD?

On Freedom now. Casey says he leaves on 8/21, for a "very short vacation, couple of weeks" , then he will be back on Freedom.

Harmony OTS - Bobby Brown July 17 through October 23. Ken Rush returns Oct 23 to take the ship to Florida and will be onboard through the New Year.

 

Independence OTS - Joff Eaton May 28 until September 19, then Jamie Fentiman for two months. Joff will be back on Indy in mid-May 2017 for 4 months after doing a split contract on Ovation and Explorer.

 

Jewel OTS - Simona Ferraiuolo beginning July 3 for the remainder of the European Season (then Dennis Charles returns?)

 

Legend OTS - Chris Brown from June 20 through October 19, then Keith Williams returns to re-position the ship from Hong Kong to Australia on October 19 until Jan 15, 2017. then Chris Brown should be returning Jan 15 to cover Keith's break again.

 

Liberty OTS - Jeff Arpin July 10 until early-November, then John Blair

 

Majesty OTS - Susan McColl July 1 through August 27, then Marc Walker returns Aug 27 to Oct 23

Becky Thompson works for Celebrity Cruises in their corporate offices in Miami.
