Dining room clothing Question

We have cruised 4 times on other lines and I have always worn a Suit and Tie on Formal nights. On our upcoming cruise on the Ruby I plan to rent a tux . In the past on sea days that are non-formal nights I wear dockers and a nice button up shirt , but on port days I wear docker (non Jean) shorts and a decent button up or Polo type shirt tucked in and a nice pair of loafers . Is this acceptable on Princess for non Formal nights in the main dining room . Thanks in advance for your reply's

The day you board the ship and the last night of your cruise then shorts will be acceptable. During your cruise shorts are acceptable during breakfast and lunch in the dining room but they prefer you do not wear short in the evening. Buffet is fine.

I agree for the most part, you'll fit right in. Also though, no shorts in the dining room for din din. I enjoy the buffet for dinner.

We had the embarrassing experience of DH being turned away from MDR at dinner because he needed LONG pants. It was on one of our earliest cruises several years ago. We never let this happen again!

My hubby always wears slacks and a tropical shirt on smart casual nights. But really nice jeans are also acceptable (go for black or really dark ones rather than bright blue denim).
