Ascott318 Posted September 2, 2015 #26 Share Posted September 2, 2015 Casino host I made friends with told me no Bounceback if future cruise booked. I have sailed 9x in the last year, each and every one were free. I recently got off Splendor with over 5000 pts and have cruise booked on Sunshine for October which was another free offer. I did not receive a Bounceback on Splendor ,because I had Sunshine booked. I emailed casino but of course no ans.
hockeyluver Posted September 2, 2015 #27 Share Posted September 2, 2015 I gamble a heck of a lot more than my hubby and have never gotten an offer. He puts in maybe $20-$40 a night if that and he has gotten 2 offers we used one last Feb. And are using the other this Feb

I guess they figure they already have you coming back so why give you another one for free. I will say I am not complaining. Between reduced rates, free steakhouse dinners and wine, free cabins and Premier Cruises CCL has me hooked. I don't even look at other cruise lines websites. The best part about it I would be gambling this way even without the comps. Edited September 2, 2015 by Tutontow

mousey Posted September 3, 2015 #30 Share Posted September 3, 2015 I believe it was in July that the DH and DS got letters in the mail offering the $100 cabin and $50 OBC per cabin. I got nothing...LOL...probably because I don't gamble. I asked the DH..."Wow, just how much money did you guys blow in the Casino last year (we sailed a 3-day to Ensenada last Aug.)? The DH said that they gambled maybe a couple hundred each over the whole cruise. The DS might have gambled more but his lips are sealed...LOL! So that's our story. We're taking advantage of the deal and are sailing during Christmas week this year on a 7-dau Miracle cruise.;)

jen&samcantwait Posted September 3, 2015 #32 Share Posted September 3, 2015 Yes, this is correct about the 5,000 points. I just got off the Breeze on Saturday and was curious how many points you need to pre-qualify for an immediate " Drinks on Us" card upon boarding. We asked the casino host and the pit boss on the Breeze and they both confirmed it is 5,000 points earned on your last Carnival sailing to earn an immediate " Drinks on Us" card upon boarding. Any idea if there is a time limit on that last sailing? It's been a few years for us (unfortunately) but guess it doesn't hurt to ask, worst they can do is say no, right? ashjaydragon Posted September 3, 2015 #33 Share Posted September 3, 2015 Bounce back offers start at 2,500 points, but if you have a cruise already booked you won't get them. Call the casino offices or email and they will discount or give you a bb code. Premier casino cruises are at 7,500 points for the year. Drinks on us are 1,000 points for 4-5 day cruises, 1,500 for 7. http://www.oceanplayersclub.com is the casino site
ashjaydragon Posted September 3, 2015 #34 Share Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) bouncebacks start at 5000 1500 for a drink card, you're not getting a cruise for 2500 and i believe what i was told from many different casino hosts, i have had 8 bounce back cruises, from interior to balcony. That information came directly from the casino club. They also say it's based on a curve, so my guess is that if you have 2,500 points and are on the low end of the curve you get nothing. And it's 1,500 for a 7 day cruise. It is only 1,000 for a 4-5 for the DOU offer. Edited September 3, 2015 by ashjaydragon
ashjaydragon Posted September 3, 2015 #35 Share Posted September 3, 2015 How points are calculated. This doesn't mean you have to spend $2.50, but you have to run it through the machine. You're winnings count as money going through the machine. My son used to work for a casino and he would look at how much I spent. I would use $300 of my own money, but it showed as though I spent $1,500. Slots Every $2.50 ran through machine = 1 point Video Poker Every $5 ran through machine = 1 point Texas Holdem Tables No points are earned Table points are calculated as follows Amount of bet x hours played For example, to earn the 200 required points for the DOU card it would take: $15 per hand x 16 hours $25 per hand x 8 hours $50 per hand x 4 hours $100 per hand x 2 hours
sana216 Posted September 3, 2015 #36 Share Posted September 3, 2015 We have received some bb offers when others are booked but not many. To the poster who said they spend $50-60 a night. I don't believe that will get you anything. Make sure you have your email set up to receive offers from the players club. If you have opted out at one time or another then you will not get any offers. 5000 points is the amount needed for a dou card at the start of a cruise. 7500 points are needed to MAYBE get a bb. We have sailed 5 times this year with 3 more to go. One premier sailing and one elite casino. We are going on a b2b ultra cruise in December. The only cruise we have paid for (besides taxes and port fees) is the ultra where we choose to upgrade our room. I believe it takes more money than some of these posts are saying to receive the offers. I also think making friends with the casino host and pit boss helps. Vacationlover01 Posted September 3, 2015 #38 Share Posted September 3, 2015 I've been on three Carnival cruises in the last two years (only gambled on the first and third though) and have two more planned for November and next April. I've gotten casino offers since our first cruise ever since. My husband and I will play slots (usually $300-500 for entire cruise of 4-5 days in length). My husband will also play some at tables, but not much. We are not big spenders (we've probably come off boat $200 light both times). When we are on board we will usually hit the casino twice a day for anywhere from 30 min to an hour each time. I just booked our April trip about three weeks ago with a casino offer in which I got 20% early saver rate plus $50 casino cash. Yesterday I got a new offer which was another $50 less on cruise cost and still had the $50 casino cash. I called carnival and they are discounting me to the new rate. We asked and requested confirmation on this information, so according to the Breeze casino host and pit boss on our sailing last week, what I have mentioned in my previous post is true. bargainsniper Posted September 8, 2015 #41 Share Posted September 8, 2015 I got 950 points on our cruise in August and received a casino offer with casino cash. Some pretty good rates. Not free, but less than $200 pp for a 5 night cruise. We are very tempted to book for February!
katiel53 Posted September 8, 2015 #42 Share Posted September 8, 2015 Last week my son and daughter-in-law received offers from Carnival. They sailed their first Carnival cruise in July and neither of them spent more than $100 in the casino. They got a discount on a cruise and some obc in their offer. I, on the other hand, had over 2800 points and cruise Carnival often and received nothing. I just cracked up. In all my cruises I have only received one Carnival offer and it wasn't a free or deeply discounted cruise. The kids told me that Carnival knew I was hooked and the cruise line wants to get them hooked too.
Beth C Posted September 9, 2015 #43 Share Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) We've been receiving casino offers non stop lately - we haven't had a next cruise booked until this week. I hope I was no where near the 5000 pt mark on the last one  but my partner in casino crime's lips are sealed about hers. We travel with a non-casino go'er and generally book a cabin for 3. With the current deals we managed to put them in one cabin for port fees & taxes, myself solo (whohooo a real bed!!) in a second cabin at a slightly discounted casino rate. Overall cost for the 3 of us in 2 cabins was about $1200 BUT i'm getting $700 casino cash... 10 nights for 3 of us... $500 overall... SOLD! Bradburyesqu Posted September 9, 2015 #44 Share Posted September 9, 2015 Table games points are not that complicated. It really is based on average hands per hour, time played and average bet. That's how most casinos do it. The problem is that the pit boss isn't watching every hand so they do their best to estimate average bet based on what they see. The more consistent you are at betting the more accurate it will be. If you vary your bet widely you are going to get random results at most casinos. If they scan your card that is to track time on the table. But you still have the same problem with average bets. There are systems that use special chips and sensors or camera's and they can help with accuracy but they are expensive and problematic. Few Casinos keep them around for long
va804 Posted October 29, 2015 #45 Share Posted October 29, 2015 Been cruising enough to be a Platinum member with Carnival and have never received a casino rate. Only gamble the slots and loose around $500 every cruise. On the other hand my sister cruises with us at times and losses between $100 and $300 and gets a casino rate every cruise. ????? Jana60 Posted October 29, 2015 #46 Share Posted October 29, 2015 This is the type of information I'm looking for ... so what you are saying is you go to the casino DAILY on the cruise ... and gamble with $40 to $60 per day, and you got a discounted rate? Also, do these casino rates get EMAILED to you ... or do they just pop-up on Carnival.com when you are signed in and try to book a cruise?????? Thanks! Jeff aka Recovery Dude I can tell you that's not an automatic formula because prior to my very last cruise, I have, for the past 3-4 cruises, spent $100 a day in the casino and yet I haven't received a single thing! No discount no drinks Card nothing! On my last cruise there was too much smoke in the casino for me to tolerate it and I had decided not to spend any more money in the casino because I always lose and I can spend the $700 somewhere else. So hey now I have $700 towards my next cruise! Seems like I've found the best way for me to get the casino discount....... avoid the casino!!! AdrenalineRush Posted October 29, 2015 #47 Share Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) Who really knows. My last cruise I only used the casino to pull OBC off my account. I still had casino rate offers. Going on Liberty in January with a nice casino rate and $45 casino cash. About 6 years ago I gambled maybe $200(blackjack) over the course of 7 days. Alegeeter Posted October 29, 2015 #48 Share Posted October 29, 2015 Not sure of the formula either but we just got a beautiful deal through the casino: $75 interior / $185 oceanview / $425 balcony for 8-day Southern Caribbean itinerary on the Breeze. The offer came in to my mother's "My Offers" tab on her account and she only played with a few hundred (total) on her last cruise.
evandbob Posted October 29, 2015 #49 Share Posted October 29, 2015 For ten years I received NO casino offers at all. Then I was enticed with a free cruise, and later, premium and ultra fare rates. I limit myself to out of pocket $100/day, although that can sometimes translate into playing $300 - $500 with win/losses. Of course, anyone in recovery is aware that obsessions/addictions might be transferable. Don't want to settle one urge only to have a different one pop up! tnvol8753 Posted October 29, 2015 #50 Share Posted October 29, 2015 I am going on my second cruise in December. On the first, I spent about 100 of my own money throughout the whole 4 day cruise in the casino. I booked my second cruise with my casino offer of 40 percent off and some casino cash. I can't remember the exact amount right now.
