CathyCruises Posted September 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) Haha!! I tried to get a hotel room in SF on Thursday because my daughter is flying in early on Friday. Too far to go from home that early in the morning. NOW I know why every room I looked at was over $500!! TN Vol Fan Posted September 16, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 16, 2015 We are getting ready to board the Infinity in 2 days after the Dreamforce convention ends. They brought in 150,000 convention members and their X prices are inexpensive compared to SF hotel prices. While a little pricey for cruising, we wish we could have booked rooms on her for this week! Rare hcat Posted September 17, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 17, 2015 Hope folks remember the dates of this charter....seems to be an annual booking. While it was being finalized, our coveted ABC island cruise booking on Infinity slipped into limbo for an extended period. Eventually, itins for several cruises, including a canal transit, were shifted around. We finally saw it coming at a certain point and we're able to switch dates for $100 more... I would avoid bookings for this time period on Infinity or whatever ship does her route to avoid being disappointed

I would avoid bookings for this time period on Infinity or whatever ship does her route to avoid being disappointed We had the same problem...............Celebrity cancelled our original bookings for this charter. We noticed that our cruise was no longer showing for bookings - contacted Celebrity on several occasions (calls and e-mails) and it took almost a month for them to finally notify us of the cancellations. We got all kinds of excuses from an IT problem to taking a ships cabin inventory to "nobody knows".

gcvt Posted September 18, 2015 #10 Share Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) It's weird to see a ship in port like this for so many days. Are they wearing Speedos? Where's the 'puke' smiley :p Edited September 18, 2015 by gcvt

Good point. I was thinking of cruise cost and also the fact that only guests per my understanding could come aboard. Not sure if there was much if any entertainment. Look like shops were closed and would assume casino also. My guess also is that not many were eating lunch onboard and even dinner. Every convention I have gone to, we were eating out away from our hotel with other employees or customers. Still an interesting use of a ship. I think some event has done this in New York City. Maybe it was the cruise lines themselves now that I am thinking about it.
