Hi We will be doing a 11 day cruise to NZ from Sydney in Jan. Wil we be able to cash US travelers checks onboard for Australian and New Zealand currency ? Also will onboard charges be US currency ? And last I know that the ship was recently refurbished and would like to know if a adapter is needed for the electrical outlet in the cabin. Thanks for you help any all other tips may have would be greatly appreciated.

Knowing the ship would help.

But I suspect cashing them wont be an issue, nor will changing them to AUS$ or NZ$ (except what t hey do to you on the exchange rate).

From the thread title I suspect you are in RCI so inboard charges will be US$.

Pretty sure our banks have stopped issuing travelers cheques.

I think it is pretty easy to work out they mean Explorer of the seas. The electrical outlets will be the same as all Royal Caribbean ships: US 2 pin (flat) 110v and European 2 pin (round) 240v. Voyager of the Seas (sister ship) was the same pre & post her refurbishment.
