Oasis Suites Lounge Embarkation Day

You can check your small luggage with a porter at the pier and just keep your carry on.No need to have to roll luggage around. Muster won't be till 4pm or so

 

We're only taking two carry-on rollers. Looks like we can go straight to the suites lounge area. Our rooms will be right next door. We'll be finished with the carry-on's by 1PM. Since we're taking a couple of bottles of wine, we'd need to keep at least one with us anyway.

We will be in our first suite on Royal on 7 November on Oasis. We're spending the night before the cruise in the Marriott Courtyard Beach. Check out is 11 AM, so we have some flexibility in arriving at the port. It is the weekend of the FLL boat show so things maybe a bit hectic in/around the port area.

 

We are on the same sailing. Maybe we'll see you in CK for lunch.

Great information. Thought it might be possible that CLS would be available sooner because of the location.

 

Questions:

- One. How do you make reservations for Coastal? Just checked the planner and Coastal is not shown as an option. MTD and the specialty restaurants are shown.

- Two. Did you dine in Coastal everynight? You found ample choices on the menu?

- Have you stayed in 1750?

We are staying in 1750 during our 10-10-15 Oasis cruise. We have stayed in 10 Crown Lofts the past 3 years. We also like 1748 and have stayed in 1706 and 1708 on the port side. I believe any Crown Loft would be a great cabin. Without exception we never had any problems with our room and service was always excellent.

 

We dine in the Coastal Kitchen for breakfast and dinner every day. While some may find the dinner menu a little boring, it is fine for us. Always had hot food, prompt outstanding service and a great view during our meals. You can make your dinner reservations with the Coastal Kitchen Hostess on boarding day.

 

Lunch is also from a menu on sea days. On port days a very limited type of buffet is provided. On these days we go to the Park Cafe for lunch.

Excellent information. I can't imagine we'll go anyplace other than CK for breakfast. Wife is totally satisfied with the salmon. Toying with the idea of doing one night in the MDR just for a change. We do have Sabor booked for one night.

 

You mentioned a great view during meals. Do you get a good view for dinner in November or is it too dark? We probably will be dining around 7.

Looking forward to that. Just look for an old, short, grey haired, fat guy with a mustache with a very attractive wife. You'll probably meet her before me. Her name is Charlie.

November will not be as great for looking out to the water. However, you will be impressed by the lighting and atmosphere of the Suite Lounge and Coastal Kitchen during dinner. Lobster is also serve here during the second formal night. Found the lobster to be much better then we ever experienced in the main dinning room.

That's interesting about the lobster. We were leaning towards room service that night. Guess we'll have to change that. BTW, how formal was Coastal Kitchens on formal nights? We're more the smart casual type.

On formal nights a nice shirt and long pants are fine. Jacket and tie are not needed.

I'm fine with that but the wife will want to know how dressy are the other women. She has some very nice dresses that extend below the knees and are certainly country club acceptable but would not be called a cocktail dress or long gown. Would certainly be appropriate to accompany a gentleman in a nice shirt and long pants.

Country club acceptable would be fine for your wife.

Sailed in March in an OS and my brother had a CLS. We boarded as soon as we could. There is a separate suite check in area, which is open early. I think we were onboard around 11:30 AM. My brother's CLS was ready and we dropped our stuff there as we were on deck 10 and it was still closed off.

 

We hung out in the SL for most of the rest of embarkation. The bar was open and the overall view is great. The food was lite finger found. It's enough to stave off hunger. Both concierges were in the SL the entire time we got there. They were booking reservations for people and hawking the Chef's Table, which I highly recommend. We got a discount on it by booking during embarkation.

I think that's the plan. Board early. Go to the SL and hang out there. From what I've read, CLS rooms are usually available around 1230. Drop our bags. Get the reservations for dinner set up. Hang around and meet our new ship mates. Muster. Dinner. Sailaway.

Hi I just got off the oasis last week. I was in 1754 Great Room

 

1. After I got the welcome email from the conceirge I emailed them back and asked them to make coastal kitchen reservations for me. We did 6pm every night

2. so yes, I ate there every night. The food was great and the level of service was amazing. Am booking again for december and will do the exact same thing.

 

Loved the room, loved the conceirge and the proximity of the CL suite to the lounge is perfect.

I know cocktails are free during the "happy hour" window in the SL, and complimentary beer and wine throughout the day, but I was wondering if there a full (pay) bar available throughout the day in the SL or CK? Thanks.

Yes, there is a pay bar in the Suite Lounge.

We were just on Oasis in a suite a couple of weeks ago. We got there early and waited in the suite area. We were on before anyone else so we went right to the Windjammer and it wasn't crowded at all. (But starting to fill up by the time we left.) Rooms were ready by 1 and both of our suitcases were there by 2! The suite lounge and CK are lovely and never crowded. The best perk of all was departure. We were taken down and put right in the line for customs. We were off the ship in 15 minutes! I highly recommend doing this.

I had a different experience with priority disembarking. We were escorted down through the ship through "back alleys" and crew only areas...which was great. But then we were brought to the luggage pick up area...where we had to wait nearly a half an hour for the luggage to catch up to us. As well as the other passengers on the ship. So while it was fun to take the secret path out before the rest of the masses...it was kind of pointless. This was on the Liberty at Port Everglades, by the way.

I didn't exactly answer your question. We had bags to retrieve. Didn't have luggage valet.

 

Thanks!! Just what I needed to know! I had read that if you had to get bags you were on your own. What is the point of an escort off the ship if you could not bypass the big line at customs? We were just trying to figure out how to pack less so we can walk off with our bags and still get to through customs with the concierge. Sorry to highjack the thread RocketMan275!!

Hi

We did the priority disembarkation on the Oasis a couple of weeks ago and the process was as follows:

 

We were given red suite/pinnacle tags so our bags were picked up and put in a separate section to everyone else.

 

We meet in the SL.

 

Concierge used his priority key to take us down in the lift.

 

We followed him and criss-crossed through all the large queues (they were stopped so we could bypass them).

 

We were taken as a priority on another lift to get down stairs.

 

We collected our bags from a small area were there were only the red tag bags.

 

We were put into a customs queue were there were only suites and pinnacles so it was quite short.

 

It was the best experience ever. Our last Oasis experience in 2012 (also in a suite), it took us hours to get off this ship, this was seriously 15 - 20 minutes from start to finish if that - so well worth it.:D:D:D
