YAY!! Diamond has arrived in Sydney..

Recommended Posts

Arrival of Diamond this morning was reported on Sydney radio (2UE) as marking the start of a record cruiseship season for Australia.

In the same report there was a comment about complaints about pollution from cruiseships and they had an audio clip from a cruiseline (Carnival?) rep saying that all ships entering Australian ports will be using low Sulphur fuel from this week.

Happy cruising to all - only 1 month to go for us :D

Thanks a lot.

I really need to be reminded that in 8 weeks it will all be over.

Maybe I can arrange for you bed to be short sheeted.

Now that's just plain mean, short sheeting my bed indeed.:)

Look at it this way, you will be on her for nearly 5 weeks, poor little

me only 2, although I am tempted to book the Golden from Melbourne

to New Zealand in Feb or March next year, still have to face a flight

though no matter what, our bit of water is a pain at times, and I hate

flying.:(:(

I know what you mean, I'm a big boy and have a ba back, flying for me is not pleasant, DW has a head problem and for her it is just a no no, last time we flew I thought she was going to die.

You could always get the Spirit to MLB and then cruise.

We think a friend may be on yours, one minute she says Diamond next Dawn and she isn't sure if it's NZ OR Islands. Her mum booked it all.

I think I'm right in saying Diamond Princess is the first arrived visiting ship for the summer season. So that means summer cruising has now started! I have 3 cruises booked this summer so today I'm excited.

Cool.

And it looks like you'll be boarding as we disembark too.

Have you ever looked at the cost of the Spirit? And furthermore you

aren't even offered free coffee, water is free though. No I will stick

with flying and sit on the edge of my seat, with DH holding me down.

After 47 years of putting up with me he knows exactly what to do,

put me in the window seat so I can't escape.:D:D

No I haven't looked a Spirit for years, it was the first time I got wifey on a ship, nearly 20 years ago.

I have looked at the price of Spirit a few times. That is why I do lots of research, so I will know a good price when it appears :)

Hope people got their scenic photos done earlier. The day is turning stormy by the look of it at about 5:20pm.

Just to clarify I was talking about Spirit of Tasmania for Awesome to get to Melbourne.

Ha Ha! I was researching Carnival Legend prices (after a recent special on the el cheapo thread), then Carnival Spirit, and that all has nothing to do with a thread about Diamond Princess! Well and truly got that one mixed up ;)

Hi,

If you don't like flying you could just go and catch the Spirit of Tasmania out of Devenport which is not far from Ulverstone in Tasmania, she also has just completed a full overhall. All you would have to do is transfer your luggage from one side of the Pier to the other side onto the Golden Princess. You could go and get breakfast at the cafe at the end of the Pier near the gatehouse or the cafe next to the tram terminal across the road whilst waiting for the Golden Princess to open her boarding up. There is no need for you to fly. I hope that helps

Regards,:):)

It's a good idea in theory, but being that tad bit older, I wouldn't be able

to cope with the chairs for a night by morning I would be bent double.

Plus the price in summer is not good, no I will stick with flying and grimly

do my Sudoku.:D:D
