Allure of the Seas B2B Nov 15-29th, Periscope, Snaps, Compass, Q&A, just having fun

Recommended Posts

Thank you again for posting the cruise compasses. These are so helpful in planning our cruise.

Sorry to hear it's overly crowded this week. Guess with it being American Thanksgiving, people are extending the holiday and taking the week off. Hope you're still able to enjoy.

One thing you haven't mentioned...just curious what you did in St Thomas and St Maarten (if you don't mind sharing). Those are two of our stops too and am interested in hearing how others spend the day...and esp when you have kids

Today was just awesome we were in port at St Martten enjoyed some port shopping mom stayed onboard she prefers the cafe and just relaxing vs navigating the scooter thru crowds.

Our 7 yr old stayed in adventure ocean until dinner then went right back as day 5 today was pirate day! We made it to the prominade to watch them March thru it was quick but they loved it ;)

Had a great dinner mom hit the casino since it was closed while in port, our teen is in bed just texting, Stacey and I may hit the casino visit mom play a bit more or catch some music at one of he many venues.

Great day though first trip away from home on thanksgiving so it felt odd but festive ;)

How long were the shows. We realize Mamma Mia is very long at 2 1/2 hours, but we were interested in how long the Ocean Aria show, the Ice shows: and the Comedy shows are. Is it possible to go to the 7:30 shows and make a 8:30 dining time?

Thanks

Ocean Aria and the ice show are 45min, the comedy show is 60 min.

Dear Will,

Many thanks for all of the insights and uploads.

I will be sailing on the Allure for the third time in January, and I had many questions about the changes/updates since I was last on.

Thanks to your posts, I now feel like I am fully up to speed! The Cruise Planners, and MDR menus were so helpful...thanks for taking the time to upload!!

Enjoy your last night on board!!

Cheers!!

Thanks so much for your review. Really helpful.

Quick question regarding b2b lunch at Giovanni's. Was it the full menu or a set menu.? We usually go to a specialty restaurant the first night but don't think I can handle two big meals.

Thanks.

Which is great by the way - hubby seems to have lost his sense of direction more than once and I'm texting him directions of where to meet me, LOL.

What are you using to text back and forth between the two devices that is free? Skype?

Thanks again for providing your b2b cruise information and your insights on traveling pre- and during Thanksgiving. We were on the Thanksgiving leg with you and I totally agree with you with many points (loud dining room, crowded pools and chairs at the Solarium, 50+ kids in Adventure Ocean).

That said, we did enjoy the cruise and the great service from MDR and our room attendant.

I also tried to Periscope from the Solarium one early morning when I couldn't sleep so that was kinda fun... though my live audience was pretty minimal. LOL.

Thanks again Will!

I was also wondering what you did while at St. Maarten? My husband can't walk very fast or long, but I want to see the Airplanes fly over!!!! Did you go to the casino while in St. Maarten? This will be our first time on the Allure. You said your daughter was texting, did you buy the wifi package?

I got up early got a donut had main dining breakfast with Stacey, little one went to adventure ocean as usual mom and older daughter slept in. The weather is cloudy with some rainy spots we generally just enjoy the ship but I do plan to get off in Mexico.

Mom is extremely tired still having trouble with the cart especially with the crowded halls and elevators I've driven it a few times for her to park and whatnot MOST people are very considerate helpful and understanding we ran into a few not so nice but we just try to move on shake it off and keep the smiles going.

Met some great folks at breakfast newlyweds from Ireland and a few others, last night we periscoped a bit from the Jazz on 4 room tonight we will play it by ear in a standby line or two for comedy or a show no rush we still have next week too ;)

One very minor thing that bummed me is every bar we go to there are no banana daiquiris! I don't care for strawberry or peach but they all say sorry no banana that's my favorite banana virgin drinks and it appears they do not have any banana I hope it's a fluke but I was bummed.

Will

I was on the same sailing as you and your family. They didn't have any creamer for the coffee in the MDR. They kept bringing us milk, at one point they went somewhere else and brought us some creamer in the little plastic containers. I think they probably went to cafe promenade to get some creamer. We found that weird to start off the cruise without enough creamer.
