cb at sea Posted November 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2015 Pretty much like the airlines....has to fit thru the scanner.....and you'll be carrying it around with you until the cabin hallways are opened (assuming you'll arrive at the ship before 1pm!) Royal2464 Posted November 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2015 They run all carry on luggage through X-ray machines. Typical carry on luggage fits, larger suitcases would probably not fit. I do not know if they would hand search larger pieces or send you back to the porters to check larger items.
GTO-Girl Posted November 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 21, 2015 In Port Canaveral we had a piece that was a little bigger than a standard carryon and we had to take it back outside and hand it over to the porters. Never made that mistake again.....LOL
Mar56 Posted November 21, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 21, 2015 In Boston and Ft Lauderdale we were told that our dufflebags with wheels needed to be in checked luggage. We had packed them such that we knew they would fit through the scanner at check in. It was a hardsell in Boston but they let us through and they fit the scanner with an inch clearance. Worked for us!
sbbquilter Posted November 22, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2015 We travel with standard 22" roller board suitcases and have had no problems with them at the port.
Rare Keith1010 Posted November 22, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 22, 2015 It needs to fit on the security conveyors similar to the airport. Aim for around 22". Keith

Keith We have a 21" X 13"X 13" rolling duffle. After reading a previous post not sure if we should count on it or not. We thought it the best way to carry on our 2 bottles of wine. ???? Are you willing to be sent back outside to check your bag and get back in line again. Different ports, different security personnel with different results = a crap shoot. Your choice. Just make sure it doesnt exceeed those dimensions.
