babyher Posted November 28, 2015 #26 Share Posted November 28, 2015 After 32 years in Emergency services. None of this shocks or surprises me. People always post how a cruise ship is a small city and how the same types of people you find on land are on a cruise ship. Not everyone becomes a sweetheart once the get on board. Family vacations can be a lot like Holiday family dinners . Relatives who don't normally spend a lot of time together are trust together in one place for a longer than usual period of time and it can get crazy. Not every family is The Brady Bunch. I am not condoning it, but it does happen. We get plenty of domestic calls throughout the day on Christmas and Thanksgiving , but they tend to pick up in the early evening usually after dinner, once everyone has eaten and had a few drinks in them. That's when the "You were all the way in California when I had to take care of Mom all those years" and "I was supposed to get Pop's watch and ring when he died " conversations start
LuckyZ Posted November 28, 2015 #27 Share Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) Been on 10 Carnival cruises and never once seen an altercation either in MDR or anywhere on the ship. I don't believe anything really happened in this case but if it did, I'm sure it was a domestic issue, did not include anyone being stabbed or cut, and the involved people being promptly escorted off the ship at the next port. I keep seeing this.....as if it being a domestic issue makes it OK, or means that it won't involve anyone else. Domestic fights are serious, can be brutal, and shouldn't be minimized as if it's not a big deal because it's not your family.
OCruisers Posted November 28, 2015 #29 Share Posted November 28, 2015 Gosh, just when I thought seeing two grown men get into a big bloody fight (knocking over others nearby) on Carnival Glory about pool chairs was bad!!! It least it didn't happen in the MDR!

Never said it was OK but am disputing that it was as serious as the OP stated. Also am betting that it was likely between family vs strangers (as many on this thread agree) Also I didn't say it earlier but I'm also pretty sure alcohol was involved. You can thank the Cheers program for that Edited November 28, 2015 by LuckyZ
TruckerDave Posted November 28, 2015 #31 Share Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) .....very little facts, lots of opinions and hyperbole, and designed to grab attention. Thought you might have been talking about this website for a moment. Plenty of opinions and hyperbole on here some days to sink a ship. Edited November 28, 2015 by TruckerDave
whogo Posted November 28, 2015 #32 Share Posted November 28, 2015 I am surprised that anyone who hates Cruise Junkie would open a thread about a dining room stabbing.
pseudoware Posted November 28, 2015 #33 Share Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) Bet one was wearing shorts. My money says it was a dude in a wife-beater. Maybe a dispute over a crying baby. Or a solo cruiser who wasn't invited to "hang out" after dinner. sfaaa Posted November 28, 2015 #35 Share Posted November 28, 2015 Could be a rude couple who decided to order 5 more appetizers after their main course and kept the other party waiting for an hour for their desert menu.
