Rare Essiesmom Posted December 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 6, 2015 Ask this on the Carnival board here at CC. I think they have some social networking packages that might work for you...But I don't know details as I don't network. EM
Kamloops50 Posted December 6, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 6, 2015 Texting will still use WiFi minutes . Unless you have an international roaming package on your phone . Data and voice are very pricey. WiFi isn't free on the ship.
ladycross8 Posted December 6, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted December 6, 2015 OUCH glad I asked. walkie talkies it is .I know I will get lost from my Buddies LOL
Kamloops50 Posted December 6, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 6, 2015 You'll find walkie-talkie won't work well because of the steel used in the construction. My people find walkie-talkies being a distraction .
Underwatr Posted December 6, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 6, 2015 Texting will still use WiFi minutes. No, it doesn't. Texting uses the ship's cellular network. Texting costs are dependent on you carrier and plan, but typically receiving is whatever your plan normally charges (if your plan has unlimited texting, receiving will be free) and sending costs around 50 cents. If you have an iPhone, iMessages will use WiFi but only if youre connected and logged onto the WiFi.

cb at sea Posted December 8, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) Make plans...tell each other. what you're doing, and listen to their plans...it's called "talking to a real person"!!! Really...it works! Edited December 8, 2015 by cb at sea
kitty9 Posted December 8, 2015 #9 Share Posted December 8, 2015 Ships aren't that big that you're going to lose your friends. Make plans for each day for what activities you're going to do and use things like post it notes or you can leave messages for them on their cabin phones. BTW, walkie talkies are illegal to use off the ship in many ports. They use the same frequencies that the locals use for police/fire/military. Kamloops50 Posted December 8, 2015 #10 Share Posted December 8, 2015 You can use post it notes to arrange a time and place to meet.
Underwatr Posted December 8, 2015 #11 Share Posted December 8, 2015 The room phones have voicemail. Free. Post-its are another good idea.
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 8, 2015 #12 Share Posted December 8, 2015 Best bet is to make plans to meet and makes use of the room phones to leave messages. Keith
