blonde375 Posted December 10, 2015 #51 Share Posted December 10, 2015 (edited) Marci22, I was told just last month that once our son is 18 and leaves the household that he would drop to the status that he had actually earned. Points always remain what is actually earned when the status is inherited. The Ex was able to keep Diamond status but had a point balance of 28. According to C&A our son's scenario is completely contradictory to what they did with my Ex. Edited December 10, 2015 by blonde375

Rare A&L_Ont Posted December 10, 2015 #53 Share Posted December 10, 2015 Royal customer service reps often give out inaccurate information. And that is 100% correct. Blonde 375, perhaps they gave the wrong info about your first husband keeping his status after your marriage ended. Wouldn't that be a nice surprise. :)
blonde375 Posted December 10, 2015 #54 Share Posted December 10, 2015 A&L_Ont, hahaha, that would be sweet! Funny enough, when we split, he never changed his email on his C&A account so for a while I would get emails for his account.
Merion_Mom Posted December 10, 2015 #55 Share Posted December 10, 2015 This is patterned after Celebrity where Michael's Club is only for suite guests and Zeniths. But RCCL still has the Diamond lounges for D/D+ unlike Celebrity where Elite and Elite+ has no lounge and is only limited to 3 drink coupons a day for Elite heavy sailings like TA. Note that RCCL is going for the Suite lounge, Diamond Lounge setup on ships like Oasis classes that usual sails Diamond heavy markets like TA, US and Europe. Other markets where RCCL leads like in Asia still retains the old concierge lounge for D+'s and suites and Diamond lounge for D's. One reason is these new markets are still new so very few Diamonds, the 2nd is these markets really don't drink (mostly hot water/tea but gambles a lot), so Diamond lounge, as well as the ship's bars are almost empty... one incentive to sail Asia for D members is the lounge is really quiet, exclusive and private, plus you get special attention from the concierge since you are so few... Celebrity is working on a new class of ships. It will be interesting to see what 'specialized' lounge(s) may end up on those new ships. :)
