gamecockinnc Posted December 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2015 Hi, We are cruising on Breeze over Christmas. We are flying into Miami the afternoon before our cruise. Our youngest just turned 5 this week and is all about Santa. I have a few boxes of Legos, stocking stuffers for all three of our sons and Christmas decorations for our cabins. I don't want to cart all of this down there in a suitcase so I thought about fed exing of sending a box UPS to our hotel. We are staying at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami. I called and spoke to the concierge. He said we could send the box and the hotel charges $3.00 per box. Should I put my name on it as c/o, my reservation number???? I asked the concierge and he was pretty laid back and just said send it. Has anyone done this and could you give me any advice? Thanks, T
Cruisesfun65 Posted December 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2015 We often order suprise items for the kids through Amazon or eBay and have them delivered to our pre-cruise hotel. It's a fun way to start the vacation. Just put 1. The hotel name + address 2. C/O YOUR name and date of arrival. I never put my reservation number. Rare Essiesmom Posted December 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2015 You might mark the outside of the box with 'Hold for arrival on...' EM

Thanks, T Yes, send it to the hotel and very largely put c/o Your Name and reservation number. Make sure you track it. I would call concierge and give them a heads up and let them know it is your kids Christmas. Edited December 10, 2015 by BlueHerons
silvercrikhix Posted December 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2015 Yes we have done this. We often send things General Delivery to a nearby post office too. Both are very easy & no missing boxes yet!
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 10, 2015 Put the hotel name and address on it and put c/o and put your first and last name. Keith
pootsien2 Posted December 11, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 11, 2015 If you send it thru USPS (the post office) send it priority mail with your home return address, so if anything happens that it doesn't get there on your date, you won't have to pay postage due when it goes back to you. Rare JamesEM Posted December 11, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 11, 2015 As a general comment I have sent packages to hotels in the past with varying degreases of success associated my business, i.e. sending training materials before a meeting. I have found if you are dealing with an upper level hotel no problems, just call in advance and your packages will be available upon arrival. However, dealing with the Due Drop Inn type places that is another story.
gamecockinnc Posted December 12, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted December 12, 2015 Thank you for all of your responses and great suggestions! One more question. I will most likely use ups as its probably less expensive than fed ex. When should I send it ? We fly in Friday around 4:00 pm. Of course the Breeze leaves the next day. tompeter Posted December 13, 2015 #10 Share Posted December 13, 2015 Depending on where you are sending it from, I would allow at least a week. The week before Xmas both UPS and FedEx tend to get overwhelmed and delivery times are extended...
