We will end our cruise in Seward & staying for a few days. We would like to go to Exit Glacier, the Sealife Center, & do the Kenai Ntl. Park cruise. We will be able to do all of this without renting a car? Also we will be using Seward Bus Line to transfer to Anchorage. Anyone use this company in the past?

As long as your lodging is in town, you won't need a car.

Exit Glacier Guides have a shuttle to the glacier; $10RT

There's a lovely waterfront path between the harbor and the downtown area (ends near the Sealife Center). It's about 1 1/2 miles on a flat surface. Great views across the Bay, otters playing off shore, watch for bald eagles.

Or a cab will cost $6-$7.

There's also a free shuttle thru Seward on cruise days

Lots of good info on the town's web site. Send for a free visitor guide. http://www.seward.com

I haven't used the Seward Buslines but I've read a few trips from people who used it with no complaints. Use the SEARCH feature to find comments. The Park Connection Bus is another option to look at.

If it were me, I would rent a car in Seward and plan to drive to Anchorage. This will let you get around Seward and environs easily.

Also and more important, the drive from Seward to Anchorage is one of the great drives in the country - http://rememberalaska.com/attractions/highway-seward.html.

I know that the drop off charge is ridiculous but what are you planning to pay for all your cruise ship excursions on your trip and this will just be another really great excursion. I have driven the road several times and I love it. Also, there are some really great places to stop on the drive.

There are a lot of options. :)

But- if you stay in Seward- you do not need a car. Exit Glacier has a shuttle bus- - fee- pick up is near the rail car, across from the Alaska RR depot, a little farther down the marina are the boat tours.

Seward does have a city shuttle bus (if it continues) that does go to the Sealife Center. Cabs are cheap between there and the depot. Take a look at a map.

As noted- it's a real nice walk, if no mobility limits and interested.
