For those that have been on the LOS...(We are on the January 3rd sailing...)

What ore the early getting off options?

What time does ship get into Galveston? I have heard 7am???

If we do the self-departure, what is likely time that we would be off ship in parting lot?

Thanks

From Royal's website, it appears scheduled arrival time is 6:30am. However, you should double check your cruise docs to confirm.

If you do self-assist disembarkation (you carry off your own bags), are first in line, the ship arrives on time, and there are no customs delays, you should be out of the terminal by 7:15am. However, ships arriving in the US after visiting Belize have experienced customs delays, so you might spend more time the customs line.

Another factor to consider in Galveston in January is the possibility of fog!! If fog happens, who knows when you will get off!!

Debarkation last week in Galveston was very fast and smooth - By 9:15 every luggage tag number had been called!!!

Note that it is a long drive from Galveston to Houston Hobby (the south airport, about 45 minutes) or Houston Bush Intercontinental (the north airport, about 75 minutes). Longer if traffic delays. Driving back on Oct. 4 this year I-45 was shut down for road construction between Galveston and Houston, causing about a 45-minute delay.

Also, FYI, Texas now collects tax on any tobacco and alcohol purchases you bring back -- no "free" limit.

Currently on Freedom, we were docked next to Liberty in Cozumel yesterday. They left a half hour late, and were calling someone's name. Not sure if someone got left behind or not.

That could have delayed arrival tomorrow in Galveston perhaps.
