Royal Caribbean and Virgin Islands Sign 10-Year Agreement

Royal Caribbean and the Virgin Islands Port Authority have signed a 10-year contract, keeping the cruise line coming to the Virgin Islands through 2026. The agreement gives Royal Caribbean guaranteed berthing rights at the Austin "Babe" Monsanto Marine Facility in Crown Bay, St. Thomas. The contract also includes increases in port fees going forward, including port fees for berthing in St. Croix, which had been free since 2002.

Am I wrong in assuming that RCL will be moving from Havensight to Crown Bay? All our RCL cruises have parked at Havensight.

We happen to like Crown Bay because we always take a boat from the Marina to Honeymoon Beach on Water Island.

I am sure that the port fees are way low - they want the ships to come and bring revenue to them....

Merry Christmas to each of you- may your day be filled with family - friends - fun and all your heart's desires!

Port fee? These poor little island nations should be paying the cruise lines to come to them. :D

Because we really want the poorest nations to stay poor, so that the gap between rich and poor gets ever-wider. Then we can wonder why such countries become anti-western and open to political radicalisation.

(Not that the US Virgin Islands are a separate nation AFAIK)
