To Yacht Club or Not Yacht Club that is the question?

I did book for the 13th so I can check things out for you. I hope that Ocean Cay will be ready for us, but I doubt it. Things don't move too fast in that part of the world. I love the fact that they are planning a dock so that tendering is not necessary. There will also be a private area on Ocean Cay for Yacht Club guests so that may be another plus. Bob

I'm hoping for Ocean Cay to be ready as well. They have a good two years from now so who knows, maybe we will be surprised! I've been to all the various cruise lines' private out islands/beaches, and while similar, some are better than others. My favorites are Disney's Castaway Cay, RCI's Labadee, and HAL's Half Moon Cay. Castaway Cay and Labadee stand out because the ships can dock. That is a huge advantage. I can't wait to see how Ocean Cay stacks up! It really seems MSC is pulling out all the stops for this North American expansion, so expectations are high. New ship, new island destination, and new terminal at PortMiami. It's all a really big deal! Who knows what other surprise they will have in store for us. There is still much to be revealed about the ship.

Not worth £600 IMHO for a smaller cabin

Pete ... it was $600 but no idea if that was for two people, the Aurea suites are a similar size to the Fantastica suite but they are on the angle turns of the ship as you know with the odd shape balcony.

With regard to an area of sundeck for Aurea guests it is hard at the minute to see where that will be due to Deck 19 not being available on the plans although the area at the back of the ship around the pool would be good ... :)

Riclop ... I wonder if there will be a separate part of the Gym for the Wellness cabin guests? from the current plans it looks like they have also moved the Gym outside when they have decent weather.

Also noticed on the UK site that 10002/3 on Deck 10 are Inside Wellness cabins, read on Cruisedeckplans that they are enclosed within the hull of the ship, looking at the model they are within the wide white painted area.

is it worth paying an extra $2000 to go from a fantastica suite to a yc suite?

no !!!

I assume you expect to have the Allegrissimo package with the Fantasctica suite

Sounds like we are on the same page. I think you booked a week ahead of me.

Now to wait and see what the actual size of the YC inside is, and if it's upgraded in decor at all. I think it will probably be a bit nicer than the average inside.

They say it's 226 sq ft for the YC inside.

I'm sure the YC restaurant and upgraded service is amazing, but to go from balcony to inside, and limiting the included drinks to the YC areas (compared to the package that comes with Aurea & Suites being ship-wide), and basically insulating myself to certain areas when there's a big ship to explore, isn't for me.

When we sailed on the MSC Preziosa, we were always very happy to go back to the Yacht Cub after exploring the big ship. Somehow, the ship felt very crowded and the YC areas were always so peaceful and serene. That was our experience.

We had lots of fun having afternoon tea too.

Still working on my MSC Preziosa review (see the other thread) and just put this video together. Let me share it here first! Bartender at the One Pool area preparing our drinks, including Dirty Banana, Sea Breeze Zero and Cosmopolitan. How fun!

This is the tough part. We love the deal we have now for the fatastica suite, but also while on the Getaway we felt the Vibe area made the cruise for us.

I am sure it is a hard decision to decide to move from a 2room suite to a Yacht Club Cabin - I call it a cabin, as primarily that is what it is...

IMO, i would only cruise on MSC in the Yacht Club - it was the best value at sea and i can only see the price of this to climb dramatically once it gets the exposure from the American Market (as it is now starting to do)

Also, i love the privacy and not the crowds - and i know that there will not a lot of children in the Yacht club especially around the pool, as they will want more of the water park experience.

We absolutely loved the Yacht Club and for me, (again only speaking for myself) - would 100% give up the space to be accommodated in the Yacht Club - everything is top notch and the service is like sailing about Silver Seas -

As i say, experience it now, as down the road i believe you will see pricing increase to be on parallel with the Haven on NCL....

Hope this helps in making your right decision.

I left a message for my MSC cruise specialist to call me tomorrow (I called after they were closed. I'm going to move us to a yacht club interior cabin. I think this will be a great chance to experience this type of sailing and service for such a low price. Thank you as you were so helpful in my decision! :)

Remember that Yacht Club is available currently on only the four large Fantasia class ships, Fantasia, Splendida, Divina and Preziosa. The smaller vessels have only the Aurea experience which however nice, doesn't come close to the YC experience.

We are booked for on the Seaside

We are new to MSC and looking to book the Seaside. We have been looking at cabins and the Yacht club looked appealing until we started reading the details. I like the aspect of a smaller private area, but it seems silly that your included drinks can only come from the Yacht club.

It seems silly that they have the additional promotion of a $150 onboard credit for each passenger I guess to allow yacht club passengers to buy drinks in the other areas. We are booked on the NCL Escape and the price for their Haven isn't that much more and you get free drinks everywhere along with other perks.

I think we are going to just book a regular balcony on the Seaside and get the included drink package across the ship and not be bothered with the Yacht club. I would hope that MSC would make their exclusive area a more inclusive experience across the whole ship moving forward.

We moved to an interior yacht club cabin today. I too that it was odd that drinks were only included while in the yacht club area. But I figured what the heck and why not give it a try. We are giving up the 2 room suite balcony and moving to an inside cabin. But I think sailing in the yacht club will be a neat experience and I doubt I will get a chance for $2800 total for 2 any time soon

....in the other parts of the ship but that is really no reason to not try the YC experience. As another poster just wrote...it is the best buy at sea & will probably go up dramatically in the future.

They stock you minibar twice a day so you can make a drink in your room & take it to other parts of the ship. You can also take drinks out of the YC lounge.

FYI the Haven experience on NCL doesn't automatically includes free drinks. That is actually not part of the core Haven experience. The reason free drinks are included now is because that is a promo NCL is offering. Other cabins get to choose one of the free perks, but Haven guests get all four of the free perks. My point is that it's a promotion and can change or be retracted at anytime. If it does, drinks would not be included in the Haven experience unless another promo was being offered. On MSC, drinks within the Yacht Club are always included as it's part of the core Yacht Club experience and not dependent on the promos being offered.

All this talk about the Yacht Club is making me hungry for their suite dinners!

The restaurant is one of the reasons that I booked the YC inside. I love great food. So is it really all that great comparing to the other included restaurants on board?

Definitely better than the Main Dining Room food. However, I wouldn't know how it compares with the speciality restaurants as I didn't try any. We ate at the Suite restaurant every night.
