Do they still sell Sheridan's in the liquor shop?

What's the lowest minimum for craps, blackjack, and roulette? Is there $5 or $6 blackjack? If $5, is it 3:2 for a natural?

 

Yes on the Sheridans-$20 per bottle IIRC.

I'll find out about the casino tomorrow.

How is the internet speed? Is it reliable?

 

It's real fast and pretty reliable. I'm using my kindle now surfing these boards and streaming music at the same time.

The only issue we had so far was today when the ship was in port in St Maarten. The speed dropped down to next to nothing but they said it was because of us being docked in a valley surrounded by rock. As soon as we left port the speed was right back.

We board on the 31st for the 3rd and final 14 day cruise. Who are the current Captain, Hotel Director and Cruise Director?

The Captain is Hakan Svedung.

The Hotel director is Prem.

Scott Mikelonis is the cruise director, but Dan Dan is coming onboard after this cruise for a 2 week large ship training before Scott leaves.

JoAnn, are there still issues with the iconcierge app and being able to phone off the ship with it at a discounted rate? In December on the Breakaway that part of the app wasn't working, so was useless for us. Internet manager said it was an issue and wasn't working for anyone, and we were able to get the $7.95 app fee back. We'll be back on board on the 17th and need phone use daily and hated paying the $4.99 per minute for the cabin phone.

Wow..I am wondering if the cabin phone went up? Because I used the cabin phone and it was 1.99 per min. which I thought was cheap since my cell phone charge was 2.49 per minute..

I haven't had any issues with the app except for a few hours one morning. I have only tried calling other phonest thathe have the app and it worked fine. If you call home or office the ship from your stateroom phone, the fee is $4.99 per minute charged to your stateroom.

Are the specialty restaurant menus still the same or have they changed to a la carte?

 

The menus have some items for an additional fee, but I have not seen a true a large carte menu yet for a restaurant that was just an upcharge restaurant. We've eaten at Le Bistro, Teppanyaki, Cagney's, Ocean Blue, Ocean Blue on the waterfront, the Raw Bar, O'Sheehan's, Shanghai Noodle Bar, The Garden Cafe, The Haven Restaurant. We have not yet gone to the main dining rooms, Wasabi sushi, La Cucina, Uptown Grill or Moderno yet.

Have they done anything with the kids pool and removing the Nick characters?

 

No, not yet. I thought they were going to start working on it today because the Freestyle Daily says the children's pool is closed today, but it actually wasn't. There aren't that many kids on the ship that they couldn't allow the kids to go to the main pool. If there are 10 kids in the children's pool at once, that's an over estimation. Usually, we are the only people in it. But it's SO salty that my daughter wants nothing to do with it. She'd rather spend her time in the Haven pool.

Just booked the haven in March for myself, hubby and 6yr old daughter. Have parents traveling with us but in a regular cabin. Sounds like you are in a haven suite and have a child? Any tips? Any info on the kids program? We booked late and a lot of things are booked online, hoping the Haven concierge can help. Thanks so much!

The new kids programming is great. They focus a lot on education and sports much more than just playing games. They made volcanos, dinosaur eggs, rockets, and even model boats. Yes, the circus show is still there and it will take place as usual on the last sea day.

I will post the Splash Academy schedule once I get home.

But my daughter absolutely LOVES it.

How much does the internet cost? How many devices can you have on the plan, one?

 

Unlimited internet is $24.99 per day. You can only have one device logged in at a time, but it has been working great. I have been streaming music all night long for the entire cruise so far.

You should have no problems getting reservations once onboard. We booked our cruise around a week before sailing and the concierge is very helpful. The Haven is lovely and our daughter is enjoying the extra attention, and having her own room and bathroom on the ship is an extra special treat.
